One of the finest experiences I've ever had eating out. The food is like some kind of narcotic. I had to come back over and over. This place deserves all of the success!!

We tried one savory (Mathias) and one sweet (white chocolate pistachio) dumpling. The taste for both was ok. Not something that blew us away or would give us a reason to come back. The price: 6-7€ per piece is completely overpriced in my opinion. You'd have to order 4-5 pieces to call it a meal. Taste and price value is not something that convinced us. Sorry!

Probably one of the best places to eat in all Berlin. Not only is the food outstanding with very creative recipes --- but the service/staff is by far one of the warmest/sincere I have experienced. Just as the name states --- you leave being truly happy! While enjoying our dumpling, the owner came out and visited with us. It was so interesting to learn how she came up with her creative inspiration. In fact, one of the dessert recipes (Emil) was created while on a recent trip to Los Angeles. With peanut sauce on top, cherry filled inside and a sprinkle of coconut--- it was a perfect ending to our meal. Tip; go with a group, order several dumplings and share.

Took 40 min ride to reach Happies and I was not disappointed. The concept is cool the food is tasty and the owners/staff are super friendly. I tried the Sofia and barbel for the savory happies. And Emil for dessert. My favorite from all 3 was barbel. The taste was so good and well balanced. All 3 were light and I guess 2 savories and 1 dessert are enough for one person.

I stumbled across Happies after being really disappointed with another vegan joint close by that had terrible customer service. As soon as I walked in, the girls greeted me with a genuine smile and were eager to explain their unique and tasty menu. I was really hungry and a bit upset by the time I came in but their amazing customer service really made a huge difference. I decided to try the Sophia (which turned out to be my favorite!) and the Indian one (I forgot the name). It was filling and very delicious. I went back the next day and had another big lunch and left so happy. They treated every customer with so much respect and made everyone that came in the door feel welcome. I even thought the girl at the front was the owner because she was caring so much for everything and it was a pleasant surprise when she told me she wasn't but loved the place as if it was her own. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Berlin!

Häppies is quintessential Berlin: a very trendy, hipster joint that serves essentially one specialty with several delicious variations. Located in a vibrant neighborhood, it attracts customers of all kinds, but seems to resonate most with hip millenials. The menu only contains a few items, but each one is full of unique flavor. Don't let the menu fool you - the ingredients listed may seem to clash, but it's quite the opposite - it's characteristic fusion of flavor creates a unique experience you can't find anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and get the sweet option when you're finished. You won't regret it!

Great idea! It's basically Germknödel-like dishes with a great variety. Krische and Bärbel are nice!

Happies is "Instagrammable" and hip but it's not for me. The place was teeming with young tourists. I didn't like the food very much. The food is basically a Chinese bao, colored on the outside, with different fillings. It was pretty heavy on the outside "bread." The fillings were interesting but some of them missed the mark.

Wonderful place great owner and staff superb food. Eat here. Must eat here. We sat outside and visited during the week around 3 pm. We were the only customers and enjoyed our experience immensely. We each at two dumplings and shared a desert dumpling. All the flavor combinations came out great. Some sounded unusual but worked so well together once they were tasted. And the desert one was just incredible. Like Christmas in your mouth. Eat here. Trust me. Also it's small so careful around peak eating times.

Yumm!! This place is fantastic! Wonderful homemade bao, try the Barbel (with pesto, goat cheese and walnuts) and the Alex (awesome spicy meat). If you have room left for sweet have the Clara, so so good with apple and vanilla flavors mmmm! Mouth is watering thinking about it! 2 häppies and split 1 sweet with someone is very filling- we heard the record is 8!

Delicious yeast buns with vegan options. The owner was kind enough to make me a vegan version of their dessert bun (Netti). Cute atmosphere and cuter concept! Try the rhubarb-vanilla lemonade!

The food is heavy, not very tasty and on top very small selection. When I wanted to pay with a credit card they said I should have told them before they started calculating the bill. I am sure they are doing it on purpose to trick tourists.

I have to clarify something first: I kept reading dumplings in the yelp reviews so I was expecting small pieces of boiled dough. Which then made me wonder how it got 5 stars cause that doesn't sound too exciting. Once you get one tho, you realize they look more like large Chinese buns that you can't stop eating even though you're filled. The owner was just about the sweetest German person I met (which I think is saying much- I might've had a bad experience my first day but that's not for yelp). She was really helpful in translating the menu to English and answering all our questions. Like what are all those stickers on the wall. Answer: she asked people what made them happy and made those answers into adorable vinyl happy faces. Did I mention she makes delicious "dumplings" too? We got to try all of them, savory and sweet, and I honestly couldn't pick a favorite. But if you're twisting my arm I'll go with the goat cheese. BTW, I would go back just for the side salad that came with the dumplings.

The dumplings are good but I wouldn't say they are excellent. The mint rhubarb sweet one was better than our savory goat cheese pesto, and with both the dough was a bit underdone. I would also give this cafe a 2 € rating as each one is €5 and you need 2+ to be full. That's not a lot for a good quick lunch, but it is when you compare it to other fast restaurants in Berlin, such as a kebab for 4 or less.

Häppies is a tiny restaurant but with delicious Germknödel (dumplings) and a very friendly owner. i have been there with some friends and we all ordered a hearty and a sweet dumpling and it came with a side salad. it was my first time that i have eaten a hearty dumpling but it was a great combination (pesto with cheese) and since the menu switches I´m looking forward to go again and try some new ones out. Shortly before the restaurant was about to close we and all the other guests in the restaurant were given free dumplings which she couldn´t sell anymore from the owner, instead of throwing them away. the owner said she prepares every day a certain amout of dumplings from each kind and your favorite may or may not be sold out if you go there pretty late. the opening hours might not be the most convenient for everybody, I think it was noon to 8pm or something like that... definately recommend for somebody who isn´t familiar with Germknödel to give it a try and have a new food experience :-)

A really cute place with delicious buns. I tried both of the sweet ones and they were very good! The service was amazing and the owner of the restaurant was very nice and welcoming. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Probably one of the best meals I've had in Berlin recently. Delicious! And the owner even promised she would consider opening a shop in San Francisco! :-)

We got both a sweet and savory happie. The sweet one (netti) is based off the traditional Austrian pastry and was delicious. The owner was very kind and spoke perfect English. She got the ideas for other happies by combining this Austrian pastry with variations on Asian bao. Ask her about it. Would recommend!

Wonderful food. Both sweet and savoury dumplings. I had a plum dumpling as my sweet choice. The savoury dumpling was served with a side salad. I think that it was a chicken pesto concoction with goat cheese. All was fantastic. Only complaint would be that seating was extremely limited.

My family and I found this place on yelp and it did not disappoint. The only thing they serve here are sweet or savory dumplings: rolls of dough with filling and a sauce on top. I didn't know what to expect, but my mind was blow upon tasting their goat cheese pesto dumpling! The best came last, though. You MUST try their dessert dumpling. It was easily the best part of an excellent meal. This place has short hours, so make sure you pay attention to when you go, but the owner is lovely and the food is excellent.
