Authentisches japanisches Restaurant in Dresden. Die Speisen sind exzellent, der Service ebenso. Bin seit Jahren wiederkehrender Gast.

Looking for good authentic Japanese food I found my way to Ogura. This small restaurant located inside a Hilton Hotel over exceeded what I planned for. The food prepared by this locale clearly is self made as they claim. The Gari and Wasabi both had a different taste from typical sushi spots. The wasabi had a more firm kick that didn't linger and the Gari was still crunchy and tasted great. We ordered two Menu 2's during the happy hour, and for the price I must say it is completely worth it going here. The sushi had a remarkable texture. The tempura sushi was still warm and fully fresh while the California rolls didn't contain cheese, but instead more fish which in my opinion tasted better than with cheese. The interior design of the restaurant is cozy, and waiting staff are vigilant and notice things. I fully enjoyed my experience at this restaurant and would gladly go again next time I find myself in Dresden. All in all a great place to get freshly prepared Japanese cuisine, for a price that I see is worth it.

Went for lunch, half the menu was not available,?sushi/sashimi was half frozen. For the price, very disappointed . Sashimi did not come with ginger, thus had to pay 2 euros extra... argghhhh Rj

To say this is the most authentic Japanese in Dresden is a fair statement.. But take it in context. There are not many Japanese restaurants in Dresden. Being from the CA Bay Area, I've had my share of excellent Japanese cuisine.. I will say the following about this restaurant : 1. The price far exceeds the quality. But that's just a reflection that this a hotel restaurant and the prices have to be high to deal with the rent. 2.the food is "ok"... Dont expect Great and you will be satisfied. 3. The sashimi is very small portions and the quality is adequate. 4.the tempura is simple and very well prepared. 5. The place is small. There were only 2 chefs and 2 servers. It took literally 15 min to get the sashimi plate.. And then 40 min from ordering to get a simple tempura plate. 6. Intimate and quiet..

My family of 7 walked in and since it is a small restaurant, we must have moved further into the space than the receptionist/chef wanted us to. He was extremely gruff and rude and appeared upset that one of us sat at a table while waiting to be seated. I don't know what his problem was- maybe that was it. Then I read another review that was negative about the chef so perhaps that was just his manner, but he ought to straighten out and be more courteous and welcoming. Anyway, we were seated and our two servers were pleasant and accommodating. The food was very good.

Extremely arrogant customer service that would not even wait to get the question but leave you in the middle of the sentence. They asked us if the baby would be quiet all the time otherwise it would be a problem. Would not give the food for take away when we asked if we could take it away since we were concerned that if our baby would make a noise we would get pressured ... long story short: we left after the first drink and did not even order food. Never ever again

If you are in Dresden, and have a craving for Japanese food. This is the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Dresden. However, this is also a very expensive place and is located inside Hilton Dresden. I come once/twice a week to have set lunch or dinner. Set dinner is only available on Sunday between 17:30 - 19:00 And I need to order double set, each set costs about 15 Euros. I am stuck here for months and need a break from German cuisine.
