MEIN NEUES LIEBLINGSLOKAL in Dresden. Ich werde nie mehr dort hin fahren ohne in diesem Lokal gegessen zu haben. Ich kann nichts dazu sagen wie schnell das Essen kam den es gibt in diesem Laden so viel zum anschauen, dass es auch eine Stunde dauern könnte und es würde einem nicht auffallen. Es dauerte natürlich keine Stunde aber die Dekoration, das Personal, alles ist einfach super. So freundliche Menschen habe ich selten gesehen. Es ist einfach ein Erlebnis von Anfang bis Ende. Das Personal ist sogar teilweise in Bahn Kleidung was es sehr authentisch macht. Das Essen war geschmacklich eine 10. Keine Abstriche einfach hervorragend.

Für uns ein Pflichtbesuch bei jedem Dresden Trip..... Einmalig.... Service sehr nett und total aufmerksam... Gemütlich drinnen und draussen... Essen sowie lecker... Also hier stimmt für mich alles...

Die Ausstattung ist schon einmalig. Das Ambiente ist gerade für Touristen etwas Besonderes, da man einen Trip in die Historie Dresdens machen kann. Die Speisen sind rustikal und schmecken. Nachdem man mehrmals da war, reicht es dann in der Regel auch. Für (private) Events gibt es in der (nahen) Umgebung noch bessere Adressen. Die Freundlichkeit und ein angenehmes Auftreten des Service sind stets gegeben.

Da bekommt immer etwas für jeden Geschmack, freundliche Bedienung in einer schönen Umgebung. Nur die Holzstühle sind bei einem längeren Aufenthalt etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Dafür schmeckt das Essen. Die Inneneinrichtung ist sehenswert... Siehe Bilder...

Nettes und außergewöhnliches Ambiente, mit sehr guter Küche. Auch das Auge hat viel zu entdecken. Eine sehr gute Zwischenstation nach einem Besuch durch die Altstadt.

Schönes Lokal, vor allem innen. Der alte Straßenbahn-Waggon ist ein echtes Highlight und kann auch als Sitzplatz genutzt werden. Gute und originelle Karte mit umfangreicher Auswahl. Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Speisen und Getränke waren sehr gut.

Die vielen sehr guten Bewertungen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Wir bestellten Salat mit Putenstreifen.....was soll ich sagen. Frisch war nur der Blattsalat. Der Rest war aus der Dose. Die Putenstreifen waren kaum gewürzt und so übersichtlich in der Zahl, dass man schon eine Vermisstenanzeige aufgeben wollte. Touristisches Massenlokal. Muss man nicht haben.

Fabelhafte Aussicht, sehr freundlicher Service und gutes Essen. Was will man mehr? Die Preise sind für die Lage noch in Ordnung, die Auswahl ist ausreichend. Lediglich das vegetarische Angebot könnte größer sein. Wir können aber eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung aussprechen und würden auch wieder kommen.

So, das muss jetzt mal raus.... Seit Jahren sind wir begeisterte Stammgäste, die regelmäßig ihr " Schaffnermädel" (das leckerste Eis der Stadt :-) ) vernaschen. 😉 Das Straßenbahn Flair zieht uns immer wieder an und die Bedienung ist 1a! Vorgestern abend war mit meinen Geschäftsfreudinnen von auswärts zum Abendessen. Auch die waren total begeistert! Tausend Dank und weiter so! Bis zum nächsten Schaffnermädel... 😉

Jedes Jahr sind wir wieder sehr gerne hier zu Gast.... Speisen und Getränke sind stets zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit. Jedes Jahr haben wir das Glück, von Maik Geissler bedient zu werden, der seinen Job, den er hier macht, wunderbar erfüllt. Ich habe das Gefühl, das er seinen Job "lebt". Weiter so👍🏻👍🏻 (Hoffentlich erreichen ihn die Worte)

Wir waren am 03.03.18 morgens 8 Uhr die Ersten, die frühstücken wollten und wurden sehr nett und freundlich empfangen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr lecker, vielfältig und umfangreich. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, fragte, ob wir auch zufrieden sind und alles gut ist. Also ein rundum gelungenes Frühstück. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. �����

Good food,friendly staff,nice view...!!! Foarte prietenos și amabil ospătarul, mâncare gustoasă,prețuri ok...restaurant deschis din 1900!!! Ne-am simțit foarte bine!!!

Wir hatten spontan Platz gefunden. Nette Einrichtung! Alles fein historisch eingerichtet. Wir erwarteten einen guten Service, wie es die schicke Einrichtung versprach. Ein Kellner kam auch fix. Locker und schnell nahm er alles auf: Kaffee und Kuchen. Soweit gut. Der Kuchen kam dann kurz später unerwartet von hinten über meine Schulter, knapp am Ohr vorbei. Dazu ein flapsiger Spruch. Fünf Minuten später das andere Stück. Wir wollten dann noch auf den Kaffee warten, aber der kam nicht. Erst 10 Minuten, nachdem wir aufgegessen hatten. Wir wollten schon gehen! Das Lokal war halb leer; das Personal war also nicht überlastet. Der Kellner hatte eher damit zu tun, einen jüngeren vollzutoffeln, daß es jeder mitbekahm. Speisen und Getränke wurden von drei verschiedenen Leuten gebracht, aber ohne zeitliche Koordination. Der Kuchen war gut, das fiel aber kaum noch ins Gewicht. Der Kellner fragte uns am Ende, wer von uns denn "die Kohle" habe. Der schlechte Service hat uns nie wieder in dieses Lokal geführt.

War jetzt das dritte mal zum Sonntagsbrunch dort, Personal spitze!!! Man kümmert sich und ist immer für einen Spaß am Rande zu haben. Das Essen wie immer reichlich und es schmeckt einfach klasse. Für jung und alt etwas dabei. Die Atmosphäre bietet nostalgischen Charme bei dem es sich gemütlich für Stunden aushalten lässt. Ich freue mich schon aufs nächste mal. Alle waren begeistert. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, macht weiter so. 1++++++++......

Seit einigen Jahren kehren wir bei jedem Besuch in Dresden hier ein. Ein tolles Restaurant mit sehr, sehr leckerem Essen in origineller Atmosphäre! Man muss es einfach erlebt haben. � Diesmal konnten wir sogar unsere Dresdener Verwandten mit unserer Begeisterung anstecken und auch sie werden nun öfter hier einkehren. �

The sever was very nice and worked hard to get her English right. When we entered we did have to get the eye of someone to ask where to sit but is common. Overall good food at a reasonable price if you want a lot of food.

Another Tourist Trap :( Warm beer, no flavor Schnitzel with frozen chips .. service was also just like taste of the food. I am not sure because I am a foreigner in Dresden. They rang up the bill adding their own tip (it's ok .. they only added about 15% and I would still leave more than 15% anyway) but if you are foreigner, please check the bill to avoid double tipping for "Meh" food and service here. They won't deserve 30%+ tips that's for sure.

Decor felt like it was catering to tourists but that's ok. Our meal was delicious but service not great. They offer traditional German fare and newer choices. At least they made an effort to find us a table unlike two more traditional gasthaus nearby.

Zero stars for their ridiculous water policy. Basically you can't bring your own water bottle. The food is okay, nothing to brag about.

I love this restaurant! It is located on the Neumarkt and pretty touristy with interior decor of the 1900 Dresden. Their food was very good and they had the BEST apple pie I've ever had! With your Dresden Welcome Card, you could also get a free drink of captain's cap, which wasn't my cup of tea but was interesting to try.

Very delicious. We ate lunch there after visiting the Church. We ordered the Batzen (a delicious pork roast with potatoes and sauerkraut with bacon). We decided to split it. We also ordered the apple strudel, which was amazing. Great ambience, sitting in the shade with a slight breeze and a view of the church. Very kind waitress who spoke English.

My saurbraten tasted old. Great location, and definitely a fun atmosphere.

2.5 stars. In the middle of Neumarkt, I can't help but to notice an unusually narrow building amongst the others. This narrow building houses Dresden 1900, and after seeing a "cake-and-coffee" special for 3.90 EUR, we went in to take a break from the cold weather. We thought the restaurant would be long and narrow, but we discovered that not only does the back of the restaurant get bigger but also houses the city's "oldest preserved tramcar." Not surprisingly, the decor is everything tram-related. Others might enjoy it, but I found it a little tacky. Our service was lukewarm at best, but our basic order of the special and a latte macchiato did come quick enough. Unfortunately, the cake was small, cold, and somewhat soggy. At least the coffee and latte macchiato were warm and comforting to drink. With a Dresden City Card, one is entitled to a free "Schaffnertrunk," a shot of schnapps served in a train conductor's cap. While charming, it wasn't easy drinking out of the cap.

This spot is very centrally located next to the Frauenkirche in Dresden historic centrum. We went here on a Sunday noon to grab the breakfast buffet but missed it by a few minutes, thus had to pay 16,50€ per person for brunch, an extended breakfast with full lunch buffet, instead of the targeted 9,90€ Anyhow, we made the deal. Positively, is the ambience, all made up to be a jugendstil (1900ad) tram station and interior. The personnel is very friendly and local. There was a piano player who entertained us with subtle lounge music all the time, and a lady drawing postcard aquarells at a elevated table. Very unique. The buffet was standard, nothing too exciting. The coffee very good, agreed. What we missed is any juice as part of the buffet. You have to order (and pay) separately all other beverages besides tea and coffee. There has been no cakes or pastries, we found that a little bit disappointing for the price. The lunch buffet was diverse enough but not exciting. Fish, meat and the typical unexciting sides. A little bit for dessert like fruits and pudding creme. All at all, the menu has been a little disappointing for us and is more tailor made for the conveniant tourist passing by, at least thats my feeling. Generally a good spot. Friendly people and a good atmosphere. Piano listening and a great coffee.

The breakfast was inedible. Nothing was fresh, the few trays of low quality produce was rarely refilled. No fresh fruit beyond unwashed apples in a bowl. The only star is for pianist who accompanied the Sunday "breakfast". We left hungry and very upset. Service is Dresden classic, uninterested and mostly rude.

To us a very disappointing visit. My wife's Sauerbraten was nothing special, overlooked and the dumplings were tasteless - the best part was the cabbage. My Lachs was accompanied by beans and was at best meddling. The service was extremely sluggish and the atmosphere was "kitschig" and not in a touristy sense. We also got the impression that the staff was not too happy. Not recommended.

This restaurant is designed to be reminiscent of an old-time trolley, down to the uniforms of the waitstaff. There's even a guy dressed up like the trolley engineer. Around 12:30 he rang a bell and gave a little show which seemed to be geared towards children and old people. I only understood a word here and there. The show's over now, and there's a pianist playing old standards like "As Time Goes By" and "La Vie en Rose". The food was delicious but like most places I've eaten in Germany, a little expensive for what I got. I ordered the brunch buffet for 12.9 €. The selection was fine but didn't blow me away. 3.5 stars for the food, 4.5 stars for the ambiance = 4 stars.

The restaurant was almost empty and I had to wait an hour for my meal. The service is not very good. I tried homemade cream cheese with potatoes - very good and the schnitzel - I wouldn't recommend it.

The food was good, but the reason this didn't get a higher rating was because of the customer service. The waitress was a bit rude to my father, who admittedly didn't speak German and so there was frustration there, and she took his food before he was done eating it. She never came by to check-in on us, and not once asked how we liked our meal. I understand a level of frustration at dealing with tourists... except that in this case, the restaurant's primary customer base are tourists! Food was great, giving you a selection of old German food, and then a "New" menu for those less food adventurous. Despite my customer service problem, its still worth a drop in.

While the location is great, centrally located across from the Frauenkirche, I will not step inside again. My friend and I stopped in for lunch after looking at the menus outside. They had the menus in several languages and we were pleased to see one in English. Once inside two different employees passed by without acknowledging us, we continued to wait and were finally seated. Our server brought us menus and abruptly walked away, we realized too late that they were in German and attempted to get her attention to ask for the English version. She snapped at us and asked us to be patient. We had been in this restaurant about 10 - 15 minutes at this point. When she finally came to ask what we wanted, we asked if would be possible to get the English version menu. She grabbed the menus from us and walked off, she made an "uggggh" sound then came back and slammed the menus down on the table. We thanked her and were a bit shocked at how we'd been treated so far. We had been in Dresden for several months and have had nothing but great friendly service. At this point we agreed that it would be best to just leave rather than endure more of the same. While I can't comment on the food, the service was the worst I've experienced in such a short time.

We went to this restaurant twice yesterday and found no one to wait on us after sitting for 15-20 minutes We could not even get menus. We went on recommendation of Rick Steve's tour book.
