Sehr hektisch. Gemüse verbrannt. Sauce kam erst nach extra Aufforderung. Diesmal sehr lieblos. Vielleicht Ausnahmesituation. Hatten dort schon auch lecker gegessen. Diesmal leider nicht......

Sehr feines indisches Restaurant.

Danke!

Pretty decent place for Indian food. The decoration at the restaurant is really nice and very indian. Price was very high end as well. The portion were not what I used to in US especially for the price. The services were outstanding as I went with a co-worker originally from India. The part I was confused about was lamb curry which was typically I order from Indian place. I like meat with bones and like Tikka masala. However they were telling me there are meat with bones but those are for grill only. Anyway, lamb meat was good but curry sauce was awesome. Other dishes were great especially prawn curry. And both garlic and butter naan were super tasty. Really loved dessert - Frini. Overall a nice place for Indian food.

I visit Heidelberg at least once per month on business and come here at least once per trip. The service is great, the food is great. The Lamb dishes, in particular, are very good.

This experience was one of the worst times in my life, the waiter is rude , the service is not good at all ,in addition the food is very unacceptable and cold. Never came back to this restaurant again for sure.

Very good Indian food. I had the salmon korma. It was delicious. Very tender and nice Spice. Close to the Marriott. I'll go back

Beautifully prepared seafood grill with very high quality ingredients. Mildly spiced though. In the future I would ask that they spice it up a bit. I'm not a rice person but their rice is wonderfully aromatic and delicious.

Excellent Indian food here!! Looking around for restaurants and ended up coming here since other places were too busy, but I am glad I visited this restaurant. Authentic, reasonable, and friendly. The atmosphere is inviting and the decoration is traditional yet elegant. I would definitely come back, if I lived close.

I haven't had Indian food this bad in a long, long time. The chicken korma was basically a thin butter soup. The service was friendly and the ambiance was nice, but the food was almost inedible. As stated here elsewhere, the prices are exorbitant.

I came to this restaurant after deciding between here and Grill 16 at the Marriott. This is a great Indian restaurant across the street from the Heidelberg Marriott. I went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was quite busy, but in a good way. The absolute best thing about this restaurant is the service. Taj Mahal Heidelberg has the BEST service I've encountered in any restaurant in Germany. The waiters are incredibly kind, anticipate your needs well, and speak English excellently. The food came fairly quickly. As for the food itself, my personal opinion is that it's Indian food modified for the European palate. The food tasted good, but could have been a bit spicier or full flavored for my taste, but that probably wouldn't go well for the majority of the restaurants clientele who expect this Europeanized taste. The food arrived hot, and was placed on a flame to keep it warm during the meal. The plate was also preheated - a nice touch. The drinks were crisp and cool. All in all - stellar service and a elegant ambience. Food that's quite good, perhaps not the best I've ever had, but much better than average. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone considering it. Price is in line with the food and service.

My go-to place when staying in Heidelberg. While you might not expect much of an Indian restaurant in a small German village, the food there actually beats what you can find in many cities around the world - and certainly is far above the average Indian food available in Europe. It could use a little more patrons and atmosphere but it is also a bit remote from the center.

The food was outstanding. And very nice atmosphere. I had the mixed seafood grill and super delicious.

Atmosphere was great. Staff are very friendly. Chicken bariani was not good, however the chicken masala was great.

Am an Indian food guru. The food is excellent, the service is nice, and the price is ok.

I am generally very critical of Tandoori restaurants such as this one because I think often they are over commercialized and lose a sense of the culture of the food. This restaurant remains true to the culture and flavors of the cuisine. It is a small local place that always seems to be busy. The menu provides something for everyone from the vegetarian to the person who loves the super hot Chicken Vindaloo. I went on a recommendation and have been there about a dozen times since. I would highly make it a destination and it is especially convenient if you are staying at the Heidelberg Marriott. Enjoy !

-- Food: very, very good, authentic Indian food - I consider this restaurant the benchmark for Indian food in Germany! This restaurant is known by lots of people beyond the Heidelberg borders! -- Variety: Loads of options for every taste you fancy -- Service: attentive and very friendly -- Price: not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Cook only uses high-quality ingredients without preservatives, additives, flavor enhancers etc. -- Overall: Due to the price, most of us can't visit this restaurant every day or week, but once in a while it's worth a visit - highly recommend!

This restaurant is located at the beautiful place in Heidelberg, on the riverbank of the Neckar. It seems as a classy restaurant, and it is quite expensive for the indian restaurants' standards over here. They serve good quality food (not the best for my taste), all you can eat rice is included in the price. They have big selection of different curries as well as Tandoori specialities. Food is (like usually in Europe) adjusted to the European taste, meaning not so spicy even if you ask for super spicy Indian style. I am glad I visited this restaurant (once), but I will not be back, mostly because I find it too pricy for the offer, and the atmosphere is a bit too posh and ambient is too kitschy for my taste. And if it is to trust to my Indian friends, Taj Mahal Tandoori is just not good enough to deserve more than 3 stars.

Beware Marriott guests. This restaurant is wayyyy overpriced and the waiters are rather condescending. We thought the food tasted plain, we were nickel and dimed for everything. After we told the waiter that the food wasn't that great and not spiced well (also not hot enough), he shrugged and said that german's like it less spicy. That was it. Basically "tough shit, that's how we do it here". Head down the Bergheimerstrasse or to the Romanplatz for much better and much less expensive Indian food. Note that Indian food in Germany is usually very inexpensive... here, they just milk the Marriott guests for all they are worth. Not recommended.
