The sushi here is easily some of the best sushi in Germany. I've eaten at the Michelin star restaurant Nagaya in Dusseldorf and this place definitely gives it a run for it's money due to price and flavor. This is a real Japanese restaurant with excellent customer service and high quality ingredients. We opted to sit at tge bar and watch the sushi chef make our food, would highly recommend this for parties of 2-3 people. We sampled 16 different pieces of nigiri, sushi & handrolls and can honestly say there wasn't a single bad bite of food. We also had a delicious orange milk soda to start with miso soup and both were light and delicious. The otoro, unagi and toro all ran out but luckily were able to get an order in before that happened, small shame we couldn't get a second round. I don't see this as a negative as it shows they are using quality fish and not serving anything less than that. Highlights included the mackerel, scallops, eel and salmon skin nigiri. We washed these down with cold Kirin Ichiban and ended on tamago nigiri for dessert. The overall meal was excellent and the waiter was funny and friendly. Five out of five. Make a reservation if you want to grab a seat. Eat here!

Went here with my coworker and his family for sushi and have to say, it was some damn fine stuff. Very authentic, very fresh. The rice was properly cooked and the meal was well balanced, We had the Chirashi and it was some of the best I've had outside of Japan. It came with some miso and a side of eggplant that complemented the main dish well. They also have a nice assortment of bento boxes at lunch time. Unbelievably surprising to find sushi of this quality in southern Germany of all places but I guess it's one of the oldest sushi places in the country and there is a good reason that it has lasted. While possibly more expensive than some of the other places it's worth the money and not too bad at lunch time. I'll be back tomorrow.

A nice and authentic Japanese restaurant also run by Japanese staff (which you can rarely find nowadays). They serve most famous Japanese dishes. I haven't tried their sushi since you can find if everywhere. That's I wanted to go for the sukiyaki which I've liked when I was in Japan. Sadly they only serve it if it's being ordered my at least 2 persons so I couldn't have it. I went for tempura udon which was ok. However all of their dishes are pricey. Probably one of the most expensive Japanese restaurants in town. I was also surprised about the fact that many Japanese customers are in there. So it seems to be really authentic.

Yummy and fresh! The Unagi Avocado roll was my favorite roll. It can be a little pricey but very good quality. The lunch menu seems like the best way to go for trying different items at a slightly cheaper price. They offer lots of bento box option for lunch.

Ok, I always believed you cannot experience great Japanese kitchen outside Japan but luckily I was proven wrong when I discovered this great place. Once you enter through the sliding door, you officially enter Japan itself. The attentive staff will greet you with a warm and hearty いらっしゃいませ "Irasshiamasen" Nice, so I parked my butt at the bar because I had no reservation but luckily there was enough space. The restaurant has tables and in the back there is floor seating with low tables were you take off your shoes before stepping in. Just like in Japan an authentic touch that makes you believe being really there. The menu offers a huge variety of Japanese cuisine. Miso soup, cold and warm appetizers like Gyoza, Sushi, sashimi, tempura, sukiyaki (for groups of 2 or more) Udon, Japanese beer and of course different types of sake, sochu, tea and dessert all Japanese style. If you can't decide what to eat I'd suggest a complete menu which covers the highlights. Being a real gourmet (yes, I like to call myself that although I do eat everything and cannot tell difference between pork and chicken) I decided to treat me good and eat quite a variety of different dishes. To start of I ordered the miso soup and a cold appetizer called Sumori with fish and veggies soaked in vinegar yet not acquired a taste that'll bite your tongue. The miso soup was good the serving size was poor. The other dish was a great starter to tickle your appetite. An occasional sip from my Japanese beer (Asahi) and I was ready for the main treat. The treat was the deluxe sashimi plate Josashimi prepared by the chief cook from Hiroshima. The sashimi was placed on a wooden board in a shape of a ship and garnished with greens, turnip and seaweed, pickled ginger and wasabi. The fish served was red tuna (maguro) prawn (ebi) salmon, squid with fish eggs and some other sorts of fish, maybe makarell if I am not mistaken but I really don't know. Of course I switched from beer to sake to enjoy my plate. The sake (Masusake) was served in a wooden bowl and tastes quite good. A side dish of gohan accompanied the sashimi. I do not have to tell you how much I enjoyed the food (btw extreme seafood lover I am). What I need to tell you though is to forget the soy sauce that is on the table. I don't know why it is placed at the table at the first place. Maybe because people have the habbit of drowning their sushi into soy sauce before eating it....you need to stop doing that for Pete's sake. It ruins the taste of otherwise a great sushi roll or a bite of sashimi. So don't use it and restaurant owners please remove it from the whole place. During the sashimi festival I had I watched the cook closely preparing other dishes for other guests. Great to sit at the bar and have front row seats to watch the skill, professionalism and love that guy put into his cooking....it has to taste good. How can I leave this place having not tried tasting the sushi? I did not. After a short break for the stomach and my taste sensors which were still dancing around I ordered some more food and more sake. This time it was the Gyoza with miso dip (quite salty for Japanese standards), horensogomaae (cold spinach with sesame seeds) and the kaede sushi plate featuring 8 items and a handrolled special. Although the gyoza was nice, the miso dip was oversalted. The spinach was excellent, as well a full 10 mark for the sushi. Again there was ebi, maguro, tako(octopus) veggie and California rolls. Fish eggs and egg roll. Having been in Japan twice before and always enjoyed my dining experiences there, this place does not fall short of offering an authentic Japanese dining experience.outside the borders of Japan. A!though the tab burned a whole in my wallet afterwards, it was very well worth for both the great food and the genuine hospitality. Arigatougozaimashita

The presentation and the freshness of the fish is always spot on here. I've been here twice now and each time the food and customer service was exceptional. The staff and chefs are Japanese and the food is prepared authentically which is hard to find in Germany. Although a bit pricey I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Probably the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. However, not only great for sushi but for Japanese cuisine in general. A really cute say place to dine at! All the friendly staff and the nice interior makes a visit at Kicho to an unforgettable experience!

I've been there a few times now and each time I loved the food. It is not adjusted but they keep the Japanese kitchen as it is. All staff is usually Japanese, waiters and waitresses most likely students (most are young), so please try not to speak in hard dialect too much when ordering. It goes a lot smoother when trying a bit. You'll get your money's worth in great authentical food!

If I was going to rate this restaurant solely on the sushi and other menu items we had...I'd give it a 4.5...one star off for the price. We had the edamame and Gyoza for appetizers, 2 Sapporo beers, 2 udon soups, a hand roll and one dessert special which came out to 68 Euro...so very pricey, however, we would do it again because the quality of the sushi was excellent! The Gyoza appetizer is a must...crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sushi is very fresh. Our friends had some of the other menu items and they were also very good! Very little parking on the street so try to find parking before you turn into the restaurant street. Very nicely decorated...great for a power business lunch or dinner with friends.

This might be one of the best places I've experienced in Europe for having sushi. It's Japanese all the way - (we've even seen countless Japanese businessmen enjoy meals here, so that can't hurt, right?) When traveling from France to southern Germany, we often make a special stop into Stuttgart just to come to this restaurant, as our mid-travel reward. The Nigiri is astonishingly fresh and tender... The starters and maki have been consistently delicious. Even the miso soup is great, and not watered down like nearly everywhere else. They don't skimp - it's consistently high-quality!

Hervorragendes Essen. Alles, was ich gegessen habe, war sehr, sehr lecker. Ein Geschmackserlebnis. Für jeden zu empfehlen, der eine sehr gute japanische Küche kennenlernen will Restaurant war voll, Personal wirkte etwas hektisch. Trotzdem 5 Sterne.

Das Local ist astrein leicht zu erreichen! Die gute Verkehrsanbindung macht einen Essenstrip flugs möglich.Die Sachen was ich auf der Karte bestellt habe sind reizend angerichtet und werden jederzeit warm serviert. Durchaus nicht nur das aufmerksame Personal war bei meinem Besuch der totale Hit, sondern ebenfalls das gute Flair.Ich war schon lange nicht mehr so beeindruckt von einem Restaurant.

Wir haben richtig guten Ramen gegessen und Sushi. Wurden bedient von einer wirklich sehr sehr netten Dame. Und das Ambiente ist authentisch. Wir saßen auf dem Boden in einem gesonderten Raum. Alles sehr gut.

Tolles japanisches Restaurant, hell und freundlich. Bedienung aufmerksam und freundlich. Man kann zwischen dem Sitzen am Stuhl oder im japanischen Stil auf der Matte in einem japanischem Raum wählen. Sushi wird frisch vom japanischen Koch vor den Gästen zubereitet, schmeckt wirklich toll. Schöne Angebote sind die Sushi-Platte im Holzschiff serviert, das muss man allerdings mit mindestens zwei Personen essen, da recht kostenintensiv und reichlich. Auch die Menüs mit der Zubereitung am Gästetisch sind sicher ein Highlight. Für preisbewusste Gäste bietet das Restaurant eine Mittagskarte mit diversen Komplettmenüs an, die aber genauso schmackhaft zubereitet werden, wie die Spezialmenüs. Lediglich beim sauren Ingwer, war der Koch etwas „knauserig“ 😉, ich liebe diesen Ingwer, hätte mehr auf der Platte sein können.

Ich war letzte Woche in Kicho und war sehr zufrieden! Wir waren davor bei einem anderen Japanischen Restaurant in der Nähe von Kicho. Die Bedienung in dem anderen Restaurant war ungeduldig und unfreundlich. Wir freuen uns, dass wir sehr freundlich und nett in Kicho bedient wurden. Das Essen war super lecker, ich kann nur weiter empfehlen!

Das Kicho ist ein wirklich authentisches japanisches Restaurant. Wir hatten sowohl Sushi als auch andere warme speisen wie Schweinefleisch oder Nudelsuppe mit Udonnudeln - allesamt sehr lecker. Die Ausstattung ist sehr stimmig und typisch japanisch. Obwohl das Restaurant recht voll war, hatten wir sehr schnell unser Essen. Auch die Bedienungen waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir werden wiederkommen.
