Exploring the outskirts of Leeds led me to discover the gem that is Corarima, a gluten-free, vegan haven in Wakefield. As someone currently navigating a gluten-free journey, stumbling upon this Abyssinian vegan/gluten free restaurant was a true delight.
Opting for the combination platter for two was a journey through a sensory layer cake - a symphony of tastes and smells expertly presented. We embraced the experience, relishing the deliciousness with our hands, a practice met with the owner's delighted approval.
The host, a charming and attentive soul, took us on a culinary tour, passionately detailing each dish. He was so warm, Friendly and attentive - without being over-bearing. The decor added to the warmth, creating a homely ambiance that made this dining experience extraordinary.
In the realm of UK dining, Corarima has secured its spot among our favorites. It's more than a restaurant; it's a rare and complete experience, a testament to the charm and authenticity of Abyssinian cuisine.
I wish we lived closer as we’d visit regularly for sure!
Myself and my partner celebrated our anniversary here on a mid week evening. The service from start to finish was exceptional, we don't feel we've ever experienced service quite like it. We can't fault Corarima on anything: food, service and atmosphere all above the rest. We aren't vegetarian or vegan, and haven't tried Ethiopian cuisine before so it was quite out of our comfort zone but everything was so tasty and felt really authentic and family owned.
This was my first time visiting and it definitely won’t be the last! We had booked a table for 4 on a Saturday lunchtime. The welcome was warm and genuine. The atmosphere was relaxing and at no time did we feel pressured to order or eat up. We had the filled pastries to start, along with hummus. For mains, we chose the cabbage curry, lentil curry, green beans/potato, and a Berbere potato dish. It came with the most delicious pancakes too. The coffee to finish was beautifully served and everything was explained in terms of the cultural background. Even the restroom was immaculately clean.
Corarima in Wakefield exceeded expectations with its inviting atmosphere, marked by a cosy ambiance. The very friendly host added a personal touch to the dining experience. The restaurant's great African decorations further enhanced the cultural vibe, creating a memorable setting for savoring their delicious Ethiopian and Eritrean-inspired cuisine. A delightful blend of warmth, hospitality, and flavorful dishes makes Corarima a standout choice.
Enriching, nourishing, energising. An absolute gem of a restaurant. A beautifully designed space feels relaxing and spacious. The gentleman in charge is unhurried and personable, he gave us just the right amount of attention. A real professional with a touch of class. The food is just amazing, flavours, textures, presentation. We had the vegan sharing platter and couldn't get over how satisfied we felt in the absence of meat. We will definitely be back and highly recommend.
This is my third visit here in the last 12 months. The food has been consistently delicious to eat and stunning to look at. It is a unique restaurant in Wakefield in terms of cuisine. The service has been friendly and inviting with the owner genuinely passionate about his cuisine and restaurant. There are only a few tables so booking is essential, in the evening especially. It's warm, clean and tastefully decorated with quiet music. Would recommend a couple of starters and the sharing platter so you get to try several dishes. Will be going again.
Lovely decoration. The owner has great hospitality and very passionate. The food was so flavourful, love the spices! Love thr flaxseed drink and their own coffee. Highly recommend it.
Fabulous food. Fresh, healthy and tasty!
No alcohol license as per web-site, so remember to take your own, but their coffee is outstanding!
Attentive, friendly staff….took us right back to when we holidayed in Ethiopia.
The food was absolutely fantastic, the best meal I've had in a long time. The service was great, the host was very friendly and explained each dish and drink as it arrived. We ordered the combination dish, all the different dishes were delicious. We would definitely visit again.
