Sehr netten Personal, leckere Pralinen und der Kaffee ist richtig super. Die Preisen können sich sehen lassen. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und man bleibt auch gern mal etwas länger. Schneller Service, sind gern hier und werden sicherlich auch noch öfters kommen. Macht einfach weiter so.

Wir hatten meinem Bruder und seiner Frau einen Gutschein von Jochen Schweizer zum Hochzeitstag geschenkt. Sie waren hellauf begeistert, ein hervorragendes Menü mit Weinbegleitung. Sehr aufmerksame Servicekräfte, bestens zu empfehlen. Wir sind im Oktober selber in München und werden auf jeden Fall hier herkommen. Ich verstehe nicht, wie manche hier schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht haben können

Der Innenhof ist super schön. Diesen Winter gibt es einen Weihnachtsmarkt im Café. Die Kuchen sind natürlich super lecker

Ich hatte mit meiner Tochter ein wundervolles 3 Gänge Menü über Jochen Schweizer mit Weinbegleitung. Ich bin mehr als begeistert von diesem wunderbaren Service!!!! Wir waren bei der netten Ly (loveya). Ich werde wieder kommen aber sicher NUR bei dieser netten Dame. Danke für diese tolle Bewirtung liebe Ly bis bald 😀

Wir haben hier die letzten Zwetschgen des Jahres genossen und es hat noch besser geschmeckt, als es aussieht. Wunderschön eingerichtetes Lokal mit einer sehr verführerischen Auswahl und zuvorkommenden Personal hinter der Theke

Selten so eine schlechte Erfahrung gemacht. 20min auf den Kellner gewartet und dann wollte er die Karte nicht mal geben, weil es 19:00 hatte und wir nur 2 Stunden zum Essen gehabt hätten. Danach meinte er, dass die halbe Karte aus ist. Sind gegangen. Letztes Mal, dass ich da war.

Nach wie vor gute Ware. Coronabedingt eingeschränktes Sortiment. Alles etwas schwerfällig, mehr für die Generation 70+. Die Corona-Auflagen werden beachtet, auch wenn die Organisation nicht so richtig durchdacht erscheint.

Viel Lärm um nichts. Die Location ist wunderschön, das Personal immer überfordert. Brötchen fast immer trocken, Früchte billig, ohne Geschmack, die Wurst auch nichts besonders, Käse ebenso - Mensaware nett verpackt. Den Champagner und die Eier kann ich emfehlen. Törtchen & Co schauen sehr, sehr gut aus, fehlt aber der "letzte Kick". Leider. Der Rest ist naja, mann kriegt es einfach überall. Ein Abstecher lohnt sich wegen der Location und der life Musik am Wochenende.

die ruhen sich leider auf ihrem namen aus... unfreundlicher bzw. teilweise unprofessineller service, die kuchenstücke sind für das geld sehr klein. 2 kaffee und 2 stück kuchen - 20€ - das gibt's woanders günstiger und freundlicher!

Wohl das beste Cafe Münchens. Exzellenter Kuchen und Törtchen und sehr guter Kaffee. Darüber hinaus auch gute Hauptgerichte, z.B. das Wiener Schnitzel und Spezilitäten wie die hausgemachte Luitpold-Limonade. Der Palmengarten bietet ein einmaliges Ambiente und regelmässig finden im Luitpold auch kulturelle Veranstaltungen statt. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Ich bin total beeindruckt! War das erste Mal dort und schon das Ambiente und die Location selbst haben mich umgehauen..Die Karte ist überschaubar, sehr geschmackvoll, und die Tapas einfach nur lecker ! Kein zu langes Warten, das Servicepersonal war total zuvorkommend und charmant.. Als Gast wurde ich rundum perfekt behandelt ..stilvoll, aber nicht spiessig .. humorvoll, aber nicht versnobt... also mein Fazit: ich komme wieder und freue mich darauf! Weiter so ! Achso: toller Weinkarte �

Schöner Aussenbereich da auch abends noch ein Sonnenplätzchen zu finden, ausgesprochene aufmerksame Servicekräfte, gemischtes Klientel, Speisen und Getränkeangebot top, von Frühstück bis Abendessen alles zu finden zum erschwinglichen Preis

Dafür, dass das Café Luitpold so bekannt ist, kann es die Lobeshymnen von sämtlichen Stadtführern leider nicht nachkommen. Das Café sieht von außen sehr einladend aus. Sitzt man jedoch innen und die riesige Eingangstüre öffnet sich alle 3 Minuten, wird es auf Dauer doch sehr frisch. Wir sind nicht von der sehr unfreundlichen Bedienung darauf hingewiesen worden, dass man sich die Kuchen oder Törtchen selbst bestellen muss. Der Capuccino meines Vaters war eiskalt und der Lärmpegel enorm. Die Männer hinter der Kaffeebar gehen nicht gerade zimperlich mit dem Geschirr um, für den Gast aber relativ unangenehm. Die unfreundliche Bedienung brachte uns schließlich die bestellen Sachen weder mit einem Lächeln, noch mit einem funken Freundlichkeit. Der wackelige Tisch war auf einen Bierdeckel gestellt, jedoch brachte das überhaupt nichts. Von so einem hochpreisigen Haus habe ich etwas anderes erwartet. Die 28€ für 3 Capuccino und 3 gewöhnliche Törtchen hätte man sich auch sparen können.

Das Café ist wunderschön und der Kuchen köstlich. Auch für die Kinder gibt es kleine Pops aber wirklich gut geschmeckt hat er nicht. Über das Servicepersonal kann ich leider nichts gutes berichten. Von dem Kuchenpop Model Einhorn, lag das Horn abgebrochen daneben. Ich bat darum und ein unversehrtes zu bekommen. Die Antwort der Oberin: "Das müssen sie schon vorher sagen dass sie das so wollen"! Ich muss vorher sagen das ich ein unversehrtes, ganzen Einhorn möchte?! Wir führten ein kurzes Gespräch darüber (wobei die Oberin sich von mir wegdrehte und im Begriff war zu gehen, worauf ich Sie darauf hinweisen musste das ich noch mit ihr spreche...!) danach bekamen wir ein unversehrtes Einhorn. Schade dass sich ein Traditionelles Café keine freundlichen Servicekräfte leistet.

Food and presentation were great. Our server was excellent. The rest of the staff was aloof and unhelpful, something that isn't too surprising for this kind of cafe.

Schöne Location tolles Ambiente klasse Service; allerdings waren die Brötchen so hart , man hat sich fast die Zähne ausgebissen;

No one bothers to serve even waiting for 15min and signalling to few servers a few times. So no chance to even review the food quality. Good job.

Extrem schlechter und unfreundliches Personal! Eine echte Negativ-Werbung für München! Wir sind nachdem wir 15 Minuten nicht bedient und auch noch unverschämt angesprochen wurden wieder gegangen! Schlechtes Gastro-Management! Nie wieder!

Immer noch und immer wieder seit meiner Kindheit die beste Konditorei Münchens!!!!

Leider war der heutige Besuch zum zweiten Mal von der Sorte "Entschuldigung, dass ich hier Gast bin". Nachdem wir von einem scheinbaren Restaurantleiter (keine Bedienung) an den Tisch geführt wurden und dort schon zehn Minuten unbeachtet saßen, wurden wir von einer Bedienung angeblafft, was wir an dem Tisch machen, der wäre immer für einen anderen Gast reserviert. Scheinbar weiß A nicht über die Tischplatzierungen, die B macht, Bescheid. Als wir dann endlich eine Karte bekommen haben und zugleich auf unseren Gutschein aus einem München-Gutscheinbuch hingewiesen haben, wurden wir wieder angeblafft, ob der überhaupt gelte, und dass man den jetzt sehr sorgfältig prüfen müsse. Will man uns Betrug unterstellen?! Zu guter letzt musste man auch noch darauf hinweisen, dass zum bestellten Frühstück auch ein gefüllter Brotkorb gehört! Leider lädt das Café zu keinem dritten Besuch ein! :-(

Too damn Expensive for what it offers!!! (a cup of tea for 6€)

Ein rundum gelungener Osterbrunch, köstliche reichhaltige Auswahl an allem was das Herz begehrt. Top empfehlenswert !

Zuerst durften wir draußen 15 Minuten warten, sind dann rein gegangen mit der Hoffnung, bedient zu werden. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten sind wir gegangen und bekamen statt einer Entschuldigung einen dummen Spruch hinterhergerufen. Top Service ist was anderes...

Walked in and no one greeted us for a good 10 minutes. We walked around to different entrances, and still nobody paid us attention. We finally got someone's attention and they sat us down at a table almost immediately. I ordered the lamb with eggplants, and it was delicious! The lamb was really tender, but I found the eggplants were a bit bitter. Despite this, I finished every inch of my plate. I also ordered a hot chocolate, and it was really great! A tad too sweet for my liking, but the chocolate was very rich. I was able to get dessert and I got a berry cake and that was DELICIOUS. It was nice and light, and had great berry flavour. Our server was super nice, and really engaged with us. He was very sweet, and was attentive to our individual needs. Overall, pretty good!

One of only a few places open on Sunday, our Munich tour guide brought us to Cafe Luitpold for lunch. This historical cafe is so beautiful and offers the most beautiful and delicious chocolates and desserts in Munich. A must stop for dessert! Pricey for a meal. A string quartet was playing live music when we arrived and really enhanced our experience. Most patrons were enjoying a leisurely coffee and sweet of some sort. We had a lovely lunch in a lovely atmosphere. Meals were too pricey for lunch, but they do have a few more reasonably priced salads and appetizers. I really enjoyed my perfectly cooked salmon on greens. Others in my family enjoyed their small plates of tender, medium-rare roast beef and soup. One cheesecake was ordered and loved by our guide. Our server was courteous and efficient. Overall, we had a lovely lunch at Cafe Leipold. It's quite chWe'd definitely return for dessert, coffee and wine, but we wished they had separate lunch and dinner menus to offer more reasonable fare midday. With few options on a Sunday, Cafe Leipold is a solid choice.

EAT ALL THE THINGS!!! Cafe Luitpold is the perfect image of an elegant European cafe: beautiful, clean, classy, professional service, and a pleasant outdoor sidewalk seating. Step inside, and your eyes will be immediately mesmerized to the decadent glass display featuring dozens of seducing desserts...resistance is futile! I couldn't decide on one dessert, so I picked out two desserts. I probably should've gone for three! Smile and wave at one of the lovely Fraus, point to what you want, and she'll hand you a ticket for each indulgence you want. Grab an empty table, and a gentleman will promptly arrive to take your tickets and drink order. Sit, drink, eat, and enjoy...and hopefully you don't smoke, gross! €3.30 250ml bottle water...a bit of rip off! €3.40 Coffee...a bit expensive, but delicious €4.60 Cake #1 €5.30 Cake #2 I never said Luitpold was cheap right? But if you factor in that German prices already include tax, and unlike America you're not expected to tip 15-20%...its really about the same.

This cafe's cakes are amazing! I felt they are the best of cakes which I had in München. I tried a French style Schwarzwälder Kirsch Torte and Luitpold Torte. I leave nothing to be desired to the cakes. Because I went at the evening on Sunday, the cafe is too crowded that I had some difficulties to order and ask check to weiters. 私がミュンヘンで食べたケーキの中で一番美味しかったです。 特に、販売員のおばさんがオススメしてくれたフレンチスタイルの黒い森のケーキは高級感があって繊細で美味しかったです。

This place was delicious. The cakes were decadent and sweet. The prices were reasonable for a dessert store in Munich, and service was great. We will definitely be back!!

Stumbled upon this French cafe and walked inside to enjoy some cakes after our afternoon walk. The cakes look delicious. They were also selling truffles, cookies and other sweets. We were seated in the back with good lights inside. I ordered grapefruit spritzer and luitpold cake. The cake has like 6 layers of it with marzipan and Riesling white mousse with dark chocolate frosting. Lovey ordered the cherry pie cake with coffee. This place is very cute and elegant. I can see my gfs and I hanging out here for wine or tea while gossiping! A must stop in Munchen. Little pricey but why not, you're on vacation!! Trust!

This place was good but nothing out of the ordinary. We had to wait a bit for a table and I'm not quite sure why. While the cheesecake and chocolate cake were yummy, they weren't to die for. Might be an easy stop if you're nearby though!

The cafe is elegant with perfect space. The desserts are too beautiful and delicious. The service is also great. If my friends come to München, I will definite bring them to this Cafe'. Really recommended.

Most classy and elegant Coffee House in town. They offer all sorts of delicately designed cakes, whose taste and appearance will definitely make your day :) A booklet about events in Cafe Luitpold also caught my eyes and invited me back :)

Great cafe, really beautiful space inside, and solid food and treats. Our staff was very friendly and attentive.

Delicious lunch with exceptional presentation. We had the pickled smoked salmon and the leek quiche and both were clean plate dishes. Frau Koch was wonderful and patient with our minimal German. Fun sitting outside, sidewalk cafe style. Thank you! Bruce and Gina

In Munich, it was hard to find another place that can match Café Luitpold in dessert variety. You can find savory food here, but I didn't get a chance to try them. One of my biggest surprises was how different certain desserts were interpreted during my travel in Europe this time. Black Forest cake is a German classic, but the one I had at Café Luitpold was quite unique. The amount of cherry was so overwhelming to a point that I cannot finish. I am not saying it was bad, and I liked it on the first few bites. I just can't handle the amount of cherries. There was no skimping on ingredients for sure. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I sat inside here last week with two others. The pastrami sandwich I enjoyed here is the kind of smokey deliciousness that makes you want to marry the cook. The "mini-fries", or whatever they are that accompany the sandwich, could be better conceptualized as, I don't know, real fries, or anything else that can easily be picked up by human fingers or standard utensils. Two of us had the pastrami sandwich, and the third had a pumpkin risotto that also made a very happy guest. The cappuccino here is also good, with a nice, silky foam, and the cakes look amazing, though I haven't yet personally enjoyed any of those. Our service was as cheerful as a squirrel on the first day of spring. She was responsive, and also helpful with recommendations, which includes saying when she hadn't yet tried one dish or another. It's a little over my price range for a deli/café meal, thus the 3 stars instead of 4, but on the whole an experience I can recommend.

After a long hectic schedule ( and a forced hibernation on this forum, owing to occupation hazards), one of the weekends i happen to accost this place with a bunch of good local friends. My first impression was it will be expensive by looking at the attire and grandeur look it possess and the very location of this cafe. But I was wrong, it took me by surprise as i happen to realize it is not at all as expensive as it looks. Moving ahead from aesthetics, lets get to the most important ingredient of the review. The eateries. I haven't seen any place with such a large collection of cakes, pastries and wonderful delicacy which could rejoice your mouth buds. I must say, your sweet buds will thank you a ton for visiting this place. one more thing which striked me was its immaculate, STYLISH presentation which could sweep away the ground beneath your feet if you are an connoisseur of beauty around. you can get your choice of stuff packed in the most amazing away which could work as a fantabulous offering for gifting someone. Its no brainer now, to give a heads up that the place on weekends of course is crowded, normally during afternoons. You might have to stay a while, usually 10 min, to occupy a place. Even though the place is quite big, and has plenty of sitting arrangement, but still I am afraid its crowded. Coming to service, you can happily afford to give them a breathing space. The service staff are taxed and extremely busy. And looking at them, honestly you don't get annoyed but empathize. they are quite generous too...And hence even though service might not be top notch but still there are many other things that make up for it. Not everything comes in one package. So in nut shell, a must visit. Take your girlfriend here and she will like you forever.. :) if you single then do visit here with friends on a nice afternoon and enjoy the place.

Don't bother. More pomp than substance. Go in with low expectations, which is sad to say for a Michelin guide restaurant. Waiter asked me twice on my appetizer. Two table mates received their soups. Then two table mates received their entrees, then I received a salad which I had not ordered. Asked the waiter where my appetizer was and he grabbed the menu and I again pointed out the venison pie. He took the salad away and I again was sitting while others were eating. One of my tablemates asked to have the salad since it should now be tossed after being served. Still no appetizer. Finally received a venison terrine, poor translation for pie. Was charged for the inaccurate salad and the ridiculously late salad. Pity!

Had to fight people to get a table, being shooed away by waitresses like a bad smell. Waited forever for absolutely everything, the food was pretty amazing,but if you don't have 3 hours to spare for a small bit of food, forget this place.

The cakes and food are usually quite ok, but service sometimes is very slow and unorganized. Definetely a nice location for a quick snack.

Excellent eggs benedict, great bakery (brioche, croissant, bread) solid espresso. The service is speedy. The only false note was the waiter who told me, as he presented the machine to process my credit card, that "tips were not included in the check" - which is true of course, but in Germany, *service* is included in all the restaurant prices and checks. It felt like a very hard sell and borderline scammy in a place that is obviously at the higher end of the market.

The cafe has two very different areas: one is for desserts, the other for dinners. They are adjacent separated both spacially and visually (plain decor of the dessert place vs. ornate columns and ceiling of the dining place, whitecloth tables in the dining area, barebones arrangement in the dessert section). The dining section provides dishes of the modern cuisine with certain flare. We had a dinner (chose a "surprise me" 4-course meal with paired wines). The food was pretty good and inventive, but not terribly exciting. The service was also good, yet below the par for the food: our server, a trainee, was unable to tell us which wines was she serving or tell us much about the dishes, a must-have when the "surprise me" option - the first one on the menu! - is chosen, The ambiance is great, definitely walk into the conservatory (with a palm) via a passage in the back of the dining hall and observe the kitchen in operation through a glass wall. We came here for a wide variety of sweets, but this being late at night, the exciting pieces were all gone. Reservations are not needed on weekdays.

While I have also had service issues here, my last visit was so kind and friendly being served at the counter buying cakes that I like to give CL a five star rating. Of course this is based also on their exceptional cakes. The signature cake is delicious, the fruit tarts fresh and great compositions and even the Krapfen surpassed every other one I have had.
