We enjoyed our dinner here. Food quality and quantity was good plus the guy working here was cool. I am impressed he can speak multiple languages and knowledgeable. I can recommend this place to folks who are exploring the town as its right in the middle of town with cute setup.

This fancy cafe seems a bit misplaced here since the town is more casual but I'm glad it's here. Even though reservations are recommended, we were able to walk in on a Saturday evening without one. We started off with a platter of appetizers that was a medley of fried morsels and three dipping sauces. The kind waitress told us which ones to use for what but it's more fun to play with them. I HIGHLY recommend starting off with this. The flavors are perfect and it was delicately fried. I went with their prawn and fish special as recommended by a fellow yelper. Awesome choice!!! The seafood has nice, large generous portions and the flavors were complex but complimented each other. Hubs went for chicken curry and it was more of a Thai style curry. He wishes the sauce was thicker but he's picky. When I went to a restroom in the back of the restaurant, I noticed a little children's play area... What a great idea! Too bad I didn't see this find until after dinner was over! My two rugrats would've loved it! No matter.. Food came out in a timely precise fashion so my kids weren't fussy. Service was surprisingly great! Let's be honest, German restaurants aren't known to have good service. A smile let alone a kind voice is rare here... But at this place, I truly felt like I was dining at the Ritz Carlton! Give it a try... Price wise it's not bad. I'd say it's more like $$ instead of $$$...And there's street parking nearby. Bonus!

Hands down my favorite restaurant to visit while in GAP! The food is excellent, fresh, and high quality. The prices are higher, but the quality of the vegetables and meats justify it. They have a great kinder area to play in the back, perfect for families! The restaurant has a very trendy and modern feel. If you love Arabic, Thai, or Indian fusion cuisine you must stop here. Plus, it's in the beautiful walking district making for a perfect stroll after a meal. I regret I continue to forget photos, but by the time the meal comes I'm just so excited to eat I forget!

Very well decorated. Our waitress spoke English and provided an English menu as well. They little play room kept our 4 yr old entertained while we waited for our meal. We were craving something spicy so we ordered the spicy chicken curry and the Korean lamb. My wife also ordered the Thom Gai soup from the starter menu. Typical 3 Euro beverages and most dishes ran about 15 Euro each. We walked in just before 2pm to almost no crowd at all. After waiting a moment we realized it was a seat yourself establishment. At least for lunch it was. Overall really enjoyed the meal.

Good service and attention to detail. Standard Indian menu items. Restaurant filled during our time there at dinner. Service maintained attentiveness. Fried goat cheese appetizer and chicken masala were both pretty good. Will return again to try other items on the menu.

Saw this place during our walk through town and decided to go here for dinner. They have an extensive menu and in some ways I think this place suffers from a bit of identity crisis. They serve Asian, German, Arabic, Ayurvedic and Indian food. I still don't understand what Ayurvedic cooking is ? To see a seafood dish classified as Ayurvedic....I am not so sure about that :-) If you are a vegetarian the choices are plenty. We had the hummus with naan bread to start, which was ok. There was a bit too much lemon juice in the dish for my liking and, the texture was not what I expected. My main course was the Akram Fischteller mit Gemuse und Yellow Curry and, it was exceptionally good. Nice pieces of fish and prawns cooked to perfection in a nice aromatic yellow curry served with rice. I almost licked my plate clean ;-) The service is ok albeit a bit slow and this place is located away from the centre of town so, if you don't know it exists, you probably won't find it. I would happily come back here for a curry anytime. I do think they could do a whole lot better if they got their identity sorted. No need for such an extensive menu that makes it hard to decide what to eat.

Came across Akram's via Yelp and wanted to check out a place that didn't serve mostly Bavarian especially since I don't eat meat. Akram's was the perfect place. Had good veggie and fish options. I ordered the king clip fish fillet with coconut curry, veggies and basmati rice from their English menu. Was AMAZINGLY delish! We have been in Germany for over a month and it was great to add this cuisine into our repertoire. Definitely a must go!! Large space, cute decor and friendly service rounded out this fantastic dining experience.

This is, quite possibly, the best restaurant in Garmisch. It is without doubt one of a few at the very top. Keep in mind that Garmisch is a special little town. A top tier restaurant here would be top tier in any major city. The food here is more than just representative of the dish you order. It is not just an excellent example of chicken jalfrezi, for example. Each dish has something special, a little bit unexpected, that elevates the dish to a new category of pleasure and surprise. This is the mark of a confident and expert chef. The menu at Akrams is something to explore. It also changes twice a week, depending on what the chef can find fresh. The goal is to provide you with the best possible experience, not with a specific selection. The food is European and Asian fusion, with various traditions represented and a measure of creativity throughout. Something will appeal to everyone. Vegetarian is available. The wine is affordable and better than expected, especially at the price. Atmosphere is pretty standard white tablecloth stuff. Ski suits are normal during the season, of course, but that's just Garmisch.

The menu at this restaurant is extensive, with a diverse mix of Asian-style cuisine. Our group ordered a mix of Thai and Indian dishes. The waitress was excellent, explaining German words to us, and the food was fantastic! This place definitely hit the spot after we tired of eating German food.

Gutes Essen in netter Atmosphäre.
