While in Berlin, we really clocked in some tourist steps and it was late, the soup place we wanted had closed, but we were hungry. We saw Vapiano's all over the place, a chain pizza pasta spot. It was bright and bustling, so we picked one to eat at.
The place was clean, inviting and a bright spot on a very cold night. We read over the menu (they had english ones), went to the counter to order our salad and pizza. Next, we went to the bar to order the wine and my eye landed on that tiny little passionfruit panna cotta (two favorite foods put together for a heavenly flavor).
I loved the decor, the kitchen is open and you can watch as they make your pasta or pizza. My husband and I both ordered a pizza, thin crispy crust, light on the sauce and toppings and just the way I like it, though my husband would have preferred more cheese. A lightly balsamic dressed salad and 2 delicious wines (chianti and malbec) from the well stocked wine list. We enjoyed our evening at Vapiano!

This restaurant is in the heart of Berlin. I went here with a friend for the first time. We have heard about this place. When I first arrived through the door, it looks like a really nice, clean Italian restaurant. We went to the host and they provided us with cards which we would use to scan the meal items that we want. There were several stations such as pasta, pizza, dessert, etc. My friend and I went to the pasta station which seemed like the most popular station. It had a pretty long line for a Sunday afternoon. I ordered a beef risotto. The staff cooks the meal right in front of you and use premium ingredients such as homemade pasta. My meal was completed in about 10 minutes. You scan your card and then the meal becomes an expense on your card. After that, I took my tray and ate one of the best risottos I've ever had!
I like this place because it is nontraditional, the food seems pretty authentic, and it has a nice Italian atmosphere. The food is also really tasty and well prepared. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the wait. It was about 20 minutes in line before we ordered our food.
I still highly recommend this place if you're searching for Italian cuisine.
Great Italian restaurant. Nice ambiance; excellent place to relax and enjoy the delicious food. We had Cesar salad with chicken and shrimp (perfectly grilled shrimp -you must try) along with the calzone pizza (spicy). Portions are on the larger side -one dish per two people is enough.
Excellent food in a warm atmosphere at very reasonable prices.

I only stopped in to get a take away coffee but it was honestly so delicious I had to write a review. Also, the guy that made it for me was extremely nice. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in the area and although I can't speak for the food it smelled amazing inside!
I loved this place! We asked a local where we could get the best cheese pizza for our 4 year old and good food for us. The two ladies working behind the counter in the shoppe we were in looked at each other and said in unison, "Vapiano's!"
Get the Bruschetta while you decide what else to order. It is totally YUM!
My 17 year old ordered the white wine Filet - very, very good. Hubby ordered a shrimp fettuccine Alfredo with spinach - delish!! And I went for the bolognasse pastas with the red sauce with meat - wonderful. My 4 year old adored her pizza. We were all delightfully full.
Now, as far as the desserts? Skip those. We didn't care for them at all.
This place has a nice vibe. Interior is pretty nice, dimly lit with lights at each table. They also have outside heating in the little interior courtyard. Friendly staff nice place to hang out and grab a bite. When you enter they give you a card then you can grab what you want at each station (they have a station for pizza pasta, salads etc) they also have a full bar. At each station you order you give them the card and then when you exit you give the card to the cashier and pay.
Food is really good and made with fresh ingredients. Prices are pretty resonable. Very nice find in a touristy area.
The food was excellent. I had the steak and shrimp salad. The card system was a bit confusing but once we figured it out t was fine. Highly recommend this place.
Late at night....looking for some decent food, we found Vapianos. Freshly made Italian food made right in front of you. It does take a little while for them to make it but hey it's fresh, can't complain. They even have the pasta in small bags in a refrigerator right behind the cooks. You order what you want and away the cooks go...making the food to your specifications.
I went with a large group of people and our food had already been ordered for us. We had pasta with ham and tomato sauce. I really enjoyed it. Dessert was ice cream with strawberry sauce. I really liked how the restaurant was set up, with fresh herbs and oils on the tables. It smells so good in there. The staff was friendly and handled our group of 45 people quite well. I wish we had one where I live.
Wer das Vapiano kennt, weiß was man erwarten kann. Alles sehr lecker.
Lage super , nah am Brandenburher Tor aber innenliegend und damit fern ab vom Trubel .
Essen keine Handwerkskunst aber gewohnt lecker und preislich ok . Personal eher mürrisch (liegt aber vllt auch an den hier herrschenden Temperaturen (ca 37) Im Hof draußen ließ es sich aushalten .
Für ein Selbstbedienungs-Lokal hohe Qualität der Küche meist nettes Personal hinterm Tresen.
Ideal allerdings nur wenn man alleine speist, denn man wird es nie schaffen gemeinsam essen zu können. Man muss Schlange stehen mögen und nicht enttäuscht sein, wenn die Begleitung am Tisch bereits alleine essen musste.
Sehr groß und man hat verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten. Essen war gut und auf spezielle Wünsche wurde eingegangen. Auch das Personal es sehr freundlich und hilfreich. Allerdings hatte in der Herrentoilette Mal der Mülleimer geleert werden können.
Leckere Pasta zu fairen Preisen. Bedienung war nett und es ging auch sehr schnell (waren an einem Samstag abends um 20 Uhr dort).
