As natural wine aficionados from Brooklyn, we were eager to explore the scene in Berlin. After visiting a few bars--some ok, some great--we discovered Naturales three days before leaving and ended up visiting every...single...night.
The wine here is almost exclusively natural and largely from Spain. The soft-spoken but enormously friendly Pablo can pinpoint the exact wine that you're hankering for. He has an earnest passion for natural wine that I've yet to find in anyone in NYC, even at the greats such as Anfora, Four Horsemen, and June. He enabled us to discover many incredible Spanish wines--Vino Costa maybe the most delicious liquid I have ever had the pleasure to drink. Many of these remarkable bottles unfortunately have yet to make it to the states.
While the wine is on center stage, the tapas menu is equally notable. Because we visited so often, we practically sampled the entire menu. Yoav is as ardent about his dishes as Pablo is about the wine list. He prepares each plate meticulously, painstakingly. We highly recommend the preserved seafood--the cuttlefish in its own ink is life-changing. The tortilla española is thick and delicious. The jámon ibérico on bread with tomatoes is otherworldly. The artichoke hearts with anchovies and dill sauce is addicting. If you're lucky, you might catch Yoav experimenting with a pastry or two. His off-the-menu chocolate muffin (more like lava cake) was exceptional. This man is talented and nothing on the menu should be missed.
The one last note is the vibe here, which is very convivial and memorable. It's not a large bar but it doesn't get overly crowded nor loud either. The lighting is perfect--bar seats are well-lit but the tables are suited for more intimate gatherings. Finally, Pablo's playlist is wonderful--varied from 70s/80s pop to indie remixes.
Naturales is simply idyllic. After visiting 100s of bars in NYC, I know places like this don't appear very often. I'm now tempted to move to Berlin! When we visit again, we'll most definitely return to Naturales.
An excellent place to have a nice glass of wine. Great selection, some wines you'll not see somewhere else. They do have open bottles that you can try before ordering and they give you a jar of water without you having to ask for it (!). Very good prices. One of my new favorite places in kreuzberg.
Es gibt Bio- und Naturweine. Das Personal ist aufmerksam, berät gerne und lässt einen geduldig probieren. Die Auswahl ist übersichtlich aber gut. Die Preise sind fair. Ein 0,15 Glas kostet zwischen 5 und 7€. Über das Essen kann ich nichts sagen - wir waren nur für einen Absacker dort. Wir waren angetan und werden wieder kommen. Wer Wein mag und gerne auch mal neues probiert ist hier gut aufgehoben.

A beautifully warm and welcoming wine bar with a well thought out and curated wine list. We stumbled upon this place as we were out for a walk and sat at the bar for what was meant to be a quick glass whilst we got our bearings in the neighbourhood. The music, the wine and the service were outstanding. So much that a wee drink turned into a bit more. Can’t wait to go back!
