5 Stars! BREZEL BAR Withdrawal syndrome is a thing.
Our best breakfast during our visit to Berlin was without doubt at Brezel Bar! We liked it so much the first time, we came here twice during our ten day stay. The menu is entirely in German and our hosts while polite weren't as helpful in translating or assisting us with that part. Well who needs help with google translate! We ordered the Chillout, one on the menu before chillout an one after (can't recall the names) and all were amazing. The coffee here was also absolutely great! They definitely know their coffees!
Return? First place on the agenda after I book my tickets!
I could live in here honestly. Between the amazing pretzels, the tremendous music always playing and the strong coffee, jet lag's got nothing on me! Cash only and tap water on request (snicker). Seriously though, if this place were in Nashville I would honestly move my office here. The vibe is mellow and welcoming even for us from the states.
3.5**
Came here with a couchsurfer and just winged it. There's no English menu so we tried our best to order something. He saw the word pesto so I ordered it and I was quite upset to see no pesto sauce. Instead, there was a sprinkle of dried basil. My dish also came with a pretzel, half a banana, tomato slices, arugula and a scoop of fresh mozzarella. I can't say there was anything fancy to my dish. His on the other hand was more flavorful. He had a pretzel sandwich filled with veggies, cheese and salami. I also ordered a glazed crossiant thinking it was a pretzel crossiant based on color but it was still good. I was also surprised by the price for the crossiant - thought it would be more expensive. The pretzels are not freshly baked when you order nor was it kept warm so don't expect Auntie Ann's style pretzels.
As for seating, there's a few outdoors and more inside. Service was fast but the server/chef wasn't too friendly.
I would have eaten that marmalade straight out of the jar with a big spoon. It was delicious. The pretzel sandwiches were a challenge to eat, but also delicious :) service was great, the man spoke English and was very patient with us.
A great pretzel in a great location. As an American, I've more or less resigned to the fact that I'm never going to find something in Berlin like the Amish pretzels we have in the states, but here you can drown your sorrows about the lack of melted butter in a generous smear of Frischkäse or make your pretzel into a sandwich. Great option for a light lunch! Looks like it's a good place to study, as well--outlets everywhere and free Wi-Fi.
The staff is very friendly, and the owner even helped my wife practice her German! It's always a welcome relief when people here don't get frustrated at you because you're still learning.
very cozy feel. Friendly german guy manning the station. I asked him what people normally get and he gave me a pretzel with butter and a coffee. Nice music too.
Ambience: 5
Food/Drink: 4
Friendliness: 5
Not sure about the price! Still sitting here after about half an hour. Free wifi!
I am sitting in the back area right now.sipping on a big glass of green tea, enjoying funky world music in the background and working on my laptop.
The staff is friendly, the location is kind of tiny, but relaxed and not overcroweded.
The food variation seem to be limited, but you will find your drink of choice, fairly priced.
This place is my absolute favorite in Kreuzberg. I came to Berlin as an American student and wandered in here one day. They immediately made me feel at home-- the people here are so friendly and the entire coffee shop looks like a comfortable living room with couches and chairs and art on the walls. The coffee and pretzels are delicious, and the cheesecake tastes like nothing I've ever had before. An actual piece of Heaven. Come here and spend a few hours and soak it all up.
Komme gern wieder!

All lot was said already about this charming little cafe in German so Id like to add one in English. Dear Kreuzberg visitor you should take the few steps more around the corner of Bergmannstraße and only a few steps from side entrance of the new marktet hall (worth a visit too) to this charming place. I often myself enjoyed the wide selection of fresh bretzels, homemade cakes and fresh coffee in all variations.
Especially in the colder month to come I would recommend this off-Bergmannstraße spot as the tables outside are very limited. The sun also disappears early in the afternoon behind the surrounding houses. But inside its quite cosy. They also offer free WLAN. Before or after your visit you should also have a look into the bookstore on corner Friesen- and Bergmannstraße unless you dont like Science Fiction. Thats what they specialise in. The cafe also offers a special lounge for reading and staying longer - called the BrezelBarLeseLounge. On some evenings they also have readings there. Check out the website.
All food is also offered for take-away and delivery in case you need this.
I now live in Hamburg but I am looking forward to my next visit in this charming place.
Sehr leckere Brezeln :D Ganz wunderbarer & liebevoller Service.
