We went with a gal who had never tried Viet food before and she loved it. I thought the food was good, but perhaps the items I got weren't my forte. I should have gotten the wontons instead of the chicken with peanut sauce.
I personally wasn't a fan of the initial service. I stood there for about 7 minutes looking to order and the lady saw me yet continued sorting the silverware and walking around even after I asked if I could order. However, at the end of our meal someone in our group broke a glass and they same lady was very kind about it.
We got some vegan take away for our long train ride and everything totally satisfied our cravings.
We tried the vegan summerrolls, the vegan wan-tan and the vegan glassnoodle salad.
Everything was delicious and super fresh. The dressing for the salad came in an extra container which was awesome cos this way the salad stayed fresh instead of soggy until we had it about 4 hours later.
The prices were fair and the place looked nice and clean.
I would come back with no hesitation.
I live a block away, see it as a canteen, a very delicious one:P Me and my bf comes here at least once a week. A very nice little Vietnamese restaurant in this area:)) friendly staffs.

This place is pretty awesome considering the area it's in (Turkish markets, shisha lounges and doner spots). The space inside was very clean and very modern - it reminded me a little of New York? But the older Asian dudes running the spot weren't hipsters at all, so it was cool.
Anyway, the food was tasty. I ordered the chicken coconut milk rice dish and my boyfriend ordered the beef and chili rice dish. Because we're a couple of fat kids, we also ordered the chicken pho and the crispy spring rolls. I also ordered the lime iced tea.
My chicken coconut milk dish was DELICIOUS. This is one thing I've noticed about a lot of the Asian restaurants in Berlin - they all offer this same time of salady chickeny saucy rice dish, but From Hanoi With Love does it right. It wasn't too sweet, it was definitely spicy, lots of veg, HOWEVER. The color and texture of the chicken threw me off.
My boyfriend complained about his beef dish and said it was very one note. I would agree if I ordered the same thing, but I had a few bites of his and liked it a lot. I haven't had many beef dishes in the past year I've lived in Berlin, not because I don't like beef but because beef in Berlin sucks. I'm not sure what it is, it just doesn't taste right. This tasted right though. No gnarly, stringy bits and the beef tasted fresh.
The pho was a huge disappointment though. Considering the other Vietnamese spots in Berlin, I'd skip it at FHWL.
The spring rolls were tasty!
Breakdown:
- Pho was gnarly. Tasted old. Skip it.
- Chicken coconut milk was delicious, but the actual chicken was odd. Might try it with tofu next time? But definitely order this!
- Beef chili dish was tasty, but not spicy. Ask for extra chilis on the side.
- Spring rolls were good, but not very memorable.
- Lime iced tea was too sweet and not very tasty.
- A bunch of dudes next to us kept ordering fried duck breasts nonstop. Might have to try the duck next time?
- Affordable. Didn't break the bank.
Definitely worth it, seems like an excellent first date spot! Not expensive at all. Will definitely be back.
I have been here very many times now and the food has always been great. The only thing I disliked the last time is that my friends and I got food at different times and some people with takeaway went ahead of us
etwas verpeilte bedienung, aber das essen welches nicht ausverkauft war, war wirklich frisch und super lecker!
super schöner laden, super auswahl an speisen, super atmospäre. einziger kritikpunkt: teilweise sind die saucen mit einer mehlschwitze gemacht, was nicht ganz authentisch ist. trotzdem komme ich wieder, ua. auch wegen der moderaten preise tagesangebot um die 5EUR/hauptgericht.
Bester Laden der Welt. Macht bitte bald wieder auf 🙏🏼♥️
4.5 Sterne. Leckere Gerichte. Mein Favorit: vegetarisches Green Curry (der Tofu und die Soße schmecken hervorragend)
