I read a few reviews that mentioned bad service but I can absolutely not agree. During my whole visit, there was always a smile on the waitress face and they have been very polite to everyone areiving during my time there... What I do agree with on the other hand is that the food there is fantastic. As so many before me I highly recommend the spinach falafel and - let's be honest - you can hardly go wrong with any of the hummus options...

A great place for vegan food. Came here a number of times during trip and went back because of quality of food. Located by bars and cafes so location is stellar too.

Before I even start I have to say both me and my boyfriend are SICK after eating here. Really wanted to love this place since I am Israeli, and the menu is very much Israeli. But after being sick from the food I can't help but give it one star. Will not go back even if the food was free. Other than being sick and the lack of flavor, the portions do not match the price. We had 2 things Hummus Plate - our classic (small portion) - 5.90 ok for portion Beilagen Mix - 14.90 - not ok for portion The only good thing were the fries! Luckily we weren't too hungry.

Fresh pita, amazing spinat falafel, carne with hummus and yummy gulash! I highly recommend the Islaeri wine!

The food is really good here, the hummus options are all very delicious, and the spinach falafel is particularly tasty. The service has always been very slow, but at my most recent visit, which was when I went there in a group of 12 (it was late enough that the restaurant was almost completely empty) they made a big fuss about needing to shove 3 tables together, and then forgot 3 of the orders. After everyone else had finished their food and those 3 orders hadn't arrived, I asked them what the delay was and they pretended it was "just about to come". When I asked them why it was so late they just shrugged. I watched them put the food on the grill about 5 minutes after that. All in all, even though the food is good enough that I've been there on 3 or 4 separate occasions I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for anything except delivery. The service is just not acceptable.

The hummus offerings in German grocery stores leave a lot to be desired, but to be honest, I have always loved an excuse to make my own hummus, which I do regularly. It's definitely a staple in our household, so it's rare that I eat it when I'm out. But Berlin does have its share of hummus spots, and on a trip to Prenzlauer Berg (where I go very seldom) a friend suggested this place, partially because he likes it and partially because I'm vegan, and you can't go wrong with a hummus place and vegans. Our group of five arrived and started to gather around a smaller table outside, but the owner came out promptly and accommodated us with a larger one, which we took. The menus came out and there are a good half dozen vegan options on there, clearly marked with the green "v" next to them. Thumbs up. I got the regular hummus plate, which comes with pickles, olives, and onion, along with pita bread. It was tasty and filling and the consistency was pretty spot on. They had some drinks that sounded good (ginger lemonade, for example) on the menu, but I was more in the mood for water. I asked the owner and he had no problem with me drinking my water bottle. In fact, they have free self-service tap water. Tops! A nice little place to grab a snack and hang out--friendly service, too.

Once upon a time, there was Hummus Shala , attached to a yoga studio of the same name. This was the best hummus I ever had in Berlin. Then, it disappeared. Some time later, the people behind Shala opened Zula elsewhere in Prenzlauer Berg. I went to see if they could restore their past glories. The hummus arrived with the same authentic home-baked Israeli pita I remember, but also with some sort of liquid I didn't recognize on the side. "What's this?" I asked. "That is garlic and lemon juice," my nice server replied. "Why isn't it inside the hummus?" The reply: "we got too many complaints." Alas, Zula was forced to dumb down their product to survive in the now-affluent Pberg kiez. When I mixed in the side with the hummus, the taste resembled that of my prized Shala, but now all the garnishes were mixed in with the hummus as well. This is not how it's supposed to be. I cannot blame Zula for doing what they need to do to survive, but it keeps me from becoming a regular. On a more depressing note, subsequent visits showed a wild variation in the density of the hummus. There were times when the hummus was almost hard as a rock. On those days, it is not even close to a serve-able hummus in Israel. On the plus side, they do a decent Sabich, which is still very rare in Berlin. This is what I mainly return there for nowadays, because Zula is no longer the only game in town for hummus. Zula, I wish I could love you. But I can't, I just can't.

I live above these guys, and after watching it be almost constantly busy, I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did!! Best hummus I have EVER had. Garlic sauce and hot sauce are given on the side, so you can season to taste. Lunch specials are really great, and cheap. They also make some tasty cocktails. Lots of veggie and vegan options. And the bread!! So good, comes to your table steamy and warm. Very filling. I have now become the crazy girl who lives upstairs and won't leave. Yum!

The shakshouka is excellent. I ended up pouring too much of the lemon garlic into the hummus so it was not as good as it could have been. The pita is excellent as well as all the garnishes that came with the meal. Service was very friendly and prompt.

The hummus is delicious, I particularly love the Afrikanische combination. Love the drinks too, all in all one of my favorite places in Berlin. :)

I came for the hummus. It is overrated & expensive for what it is. I'm disappointed. Maybe it was a day off?

Food is usually great at Zula and the owner is very friendly. Today, however, I had to wait 20 minutes to get my drink. After one hour they also realized that they had forgotten my food order. Without any indication on how long a reorder could take, I decided to leave, after paying for the drink. The waitress said that this was a busy day and this can happen. Don't go there when it's busy...

Despite its hype and reputation, the hummus was terribly bland. I decided to give this place a shot last night and was gravely disappointed. There was no taste to anything and while the atmosphere and service were brilliant, I felt like I wasted 26euros and should have gone to Sababa (half the price and 10x more delicious)

Hands down one of our favorite restaurants in the city. It is just really lovely, good quality food. The pitas! The Shakshuka! The Hummus! Oh my! Please go here the ambiance is great, and it's a breath of fresh air in a city chock-full of mediocre food places (has anyone else noticed this about Berlin?).

I love hummus and supposedly Zula has the best one in the city. I ended up here with a friend of mine on a gloomy Berlin day, so perfect time for some nice mint tea and hummus. The basic hummus platter, which comes with amazing pita, is cheap and delicious. My personal fav is to get hummus as well as tabbouleh salad and then build a little pita sandwich. I generally love salad and hummus so perfect combo for me. The little tabbouleh salad runs for around €3 and is pretty big and delicious. The reason why I am "only" giving 4 starts is the fact that even though the place was not that full, the service was super slow! I mean super slow and the fired aubergine with tahini I can also do without, but the hummus is great!

Great food and beautiful presentation! We sat outside on the patio and sipped our ginger lemonade in the sun.

One of the best falafel and humms + Pita bread in Berlin , value for money. Must try place

The very best Hummus in Berlin and maybe outside the near east. Sold at very reasonable prices, served by very nice people!

I generally lead a slovenly and unhealthy life. I like living this way, but every once in a while I have a come-to-Jesus moment when I see the light (however dim) to change my ways and have at least one nutritious meal. I was down on my knees on Husemannstr. and when I looked up, there was Zula. I took it as a sign, so I went in, ordered a sandwich and fulfilled my penance. The hummus was velvet smooth and the pita was pitacious. I love falling into the I-had-a-healthy-meal-that-allows-me-to-eat-junk trap. Sorta like being born again...weekly.

The hummus is probably the best in Berlin. I read on ToyTown it is the same guy who once had the legendary place on Kastanienallee and went checking. I couldn't recognise that guy, but the Hummus is absolutely amazing. The waitress is very nice, and there's a corner for the kids outside the restaurant. Bathroom is clean, and there are also magazines to read.
