Bestes Brauhaus in Stuttgart. Bisher immer begeistert gewesen.

Das Paulaner am alten Postplatz. Mitten in Stuttgart gelegen.

Excellent beer and food, warm place, staff extremely kind. One of the best place in Stuttgart, feeling like home.

Awesome place , a must in Stuttgart, the pork knuckle was incredible, all the dishes were divine, the apfelkurcher was the best we had in Germany.

The Paulaner beer is excellent, of course, but the service has been of poor quality. Ok, I came at the end of the evening, but the waitress was rude and they did not accepted the pos.

This was one of my colleagues' favorite meals in our week in Stuttgart; but we were admittedly biased by having tremendously nice weather for an evening meal outside next to the fountain. The location is fantastic; at the southern end of Calwer St, two blocks off the end of Konigstrasse, and a 7-8 minute walk from the Schlossplatz. We never even saw the inside because we were able to grab a tale at the beer garden, which wraps around a fountain and sits under a huge tree. Like every restaurant we went to all week, they had a couple copies of a menu printed in English, and the server had more than enough English for us to order (and far more than we had German). Overall the service was solid, and on the friendlier side of average, which was nice. I really can get used to them bringing you the credit card reader and making change right in front of you from a change purse, I wish that would catch on in the US! As far as the food went, this was the only time all week I ate bratwurst, and they were tasty. While smaller than what you get at the grocery store in the US there were several, and they were tastier than what you get in the US as well. The pile of sauerkraut underneath was both plentiful and perfectly good, so I was a happy camper. We also found the best maultaschen we had all week; rather than multiple layers of pasta and meat, this was more like a rectangular meatball wrapped in pasta. The meat was nicely seasoned, and the pasta was topped with a cream sauce that kept it all nice and moist. Overall a great way to end our week in Germany, and next time I am back in Stuttgart, Zum Paulaner will be on the list to visit again.

I give it a 5 because the food was solid, the wait staff was very nice and the place was adorable. We ate at another "Bavarian style" restaurant the night before and this was leagues better. Clean bathrooms and plenty of space! I would definitely return if we were here longer!

Nice brewhouse centrally located. We got a spot outside next to the pretty fountain. Excellent services and the out of town guests enjoyed the different beer specialties. No vegan options at all. Hard to believe in Germany in 2018 where even tents at the Wasn offer choices! Some work to be done here. The staff is super accommodating and the mixed salad without dressing and the baked potato without sour cream was ok. They have English menus which was great for the non german speaking friends

Their food was excellent and we went on a weekend night so the atmosphere was perfectly German! :) There was lots going on and our waiter spoke amazing English and was super friendly. The portion sizes are large and the variety of meats and beers is fantastic.

Oh my goodness!! This place was incredible. From the food down to the service. We did our best to try and translate the menu but they saw the struggle and gave us an English menu. I noticed there hadn't been a review on quite some time so thought I'd give you all a taste of what I got to experience. Prost!!

Paulaner is a German brewery that was established in Munich in 1634. I love the architecture of the building. I also enjoy sitting outside in the beer garden on a nice day. The menu is both Bavarian and international cuisine. The restaurant is cash-only. I think the food is good but average for regional cuisine. All Paulaner beers are freshly tapped and seasonal beers are also served. You have to walk through a very smoking dining room to go upstairs to eat in the non-smoking area. www.paulaner-brauhaus.com

The real Germany! Excellent food atmosphere and a busy place serving the best of German food and Bier! After two weeks this was a nice relaxing cap of an good trip.

I love this place. Great atmosphere, excellent food and of course, Steve. Get the Smoked Salmon with hash browns; Epic! The portions are so huge that if you eat the entire meal locals will give you a standing applause.

I love Paulaner. This was my favorite restaurant the first time that I visited and it still remains in my top three around Stuttgart. There is outdoor seating around a fountain when the weather is nice and two levels of seating inside. The ground floor is the smoking area so if you don't smoke, head upstairs. It is a beautiful building and the food is delicious. I tried several of the beers and all were amazing. If you do not speak German there is an English menu available. Everything that I have tried here has been delicious. I love the steak and the schnitzel was fabulous. You also can't leave here without trying the apple strudel. I can't say enough about how wonderful and heavenly it is. It is served warm with a vanilla pudding and you will lick your plate clean.

I've walked past this place many times but never went in because I was intimidated by the Germanness of the establishment. I thought I wasn't worthy. I thought I wasn't worthy of Paulaner greatness. I thought I wasn't worthy to drink in a real German establishment with drinking with Germans. What a silly thing to think. I ended up breaking my personal no-drinking-during-the-week rule at Zum Paulaner with some co-workers on a Tuesday night. This place is great, and they know how to pour a half-liter Pils. Or in my case, they know how to pour 7 half-liters. That's nearly a gallon of Paulaner consumed in just a couple hours. That's the nice thing about German beer. It is quality alcohol. 3.5 liters of beer during my Tuesday night at the Paulaner and I woke up fine the next morning, albeit a little thirsty. The only true way to avoid a hangover is to drink good quality alcohol, and Paulaner now receives my certification of good, hangover-free beer! So, thank you Paulaner for what I consider to be one of my only true German experiences in the two months I have lived in Stuttgart. I will be back, and next time I will be tasting your delicious-looking food. Dare I say this place gave me the confidence to think I might even be able to outdrink a German or two. Dangerous thoughts, dangerous thoughts indeed.

I had an amazing time on our honeymoon in Germany. There are so many biergartens around! We were in Stuttgart for a day and was recommended to come here for good german food. It was our first time in Germany and we don't speak German so it was a bit difficult to order, but they do have a menu in English. The waiters were not friendly and they don't speak English that well, so it was a little awkward in the beginning. I ordered their popular Bavarian entree, Steak and Spatzl (cheese&egg noodle) and sauerkraut. The Steak was good and it was our second time trying the spatzl. Those two sides are very popular in german/bavarian dishes. My husband ordered the pork knuckle with a side of potato dumplings (glutinous ball). The beer in Germany is awesome. The second floor of the restaurant is for non-smoking customers.

Lunch Sunday June 7th. This is a great place to eat, the food and service wonderful. If you eat outside the people watching is also good. Try this place you will like it.

Delicious food and a fun, fabulous atmosphere made for a perfect evening!

Great food, beer, location and decor. This is a very typical-looking German beer house and restaurant with a standard menu of Germany food, drinks, beer, and desserts. The beer is GREAT. The Premium Pils is superb, though served in half-pints only (bummer) and a little pricey (double bummer). It's a good opener beer though while the palette is fresh. :) Reservations are recommended. Ask for upstairs seating if you don't smoke, since the ground floor large dining area smells like smoke. Easy underground parking nearby with most of the walk to the restaurant under overhead. ATM is just around the corner on Calwerstrasse and it takes international cards. Quick walk to the Koningstrasse and downtown Stuttgart. All this makes location great.

Traditional German Wirtshaus with friendly, lively atmosphere. Good farmers with a focus on Swabian. Portions are large so you may be better off avoiding breakfast and lunch beforehand. Entenschmalz starter is not for the faint-hearted, steer well clear if you have a cholesterol prolem! There's a good selection of drinks, I especially liked the Paulaner Weissbier. Take cash to pay as they don't accept cards which is poor given they're in the centre of a large city.

To some one who wants to try original German food (specially Swabian and Bayer) it's a great place to go to! I went there with no reservation and having being a zero German speaker asked for someone who speaks English (whom I found and who was very friendly!) and in a minute a table was made available and I found between my hands the first English menu I've seen in Germany! The very friendly staff then assigned someone who spoke English to my table and she explained me the difference between all those beers they have so I chose the one that suited me most and I ordered my dish! In ten minutes a big dish was I was confronted by a big meal and a good beer and off I went! The food was great (little bit fatty; but again that's what German food's like!), hot, well-cooked and their choice of meats and cuts was great! The prices for a main dish ranged from 11 to 18 Euros, while soups were about 3 Euros and a beer was for 2 Euros I think! So I guess it's OK but you've got to have cash on you! No credit cards here! So there you have it! In short: Very friendly staff, nice environment, great food, great beer, big portions and good pricing make me recommend this place anytime! Above all, it's a very good example of a German inn as they call it! NOTE: This restaurant has three entries on the map so I'll post the same review for all of them!

We had a going away party for a coworker and the location was wonderful. The Paulaner is in downtown Stuttgart and has various different sized rooms which accommodate all group sizes. My food was excellent but more to the point everyone raved about it. If you like schnitzel the mushroom sauce here is amazing.
