Seriously the best lasagna I've ever had and the owner is a hoot. Bucket list this one!
Some of the best Italian food we have ever eaten.
This place got my top rating because of its tiramisu. The textual was creamy but not overly heavy. It was sweet but not overwhelming. This desert was a good way to end a working day as it satisfied my taste buds as well as relaxed my mental state.
Overall, the restaurant was not a big place but nicely decorated. It is intimate but yet spacious to the feels. All the dishes were reasonably priced and all were tasteful. I tried the pasta with salmon - that come with generous amount of fish. Some of my table mates shared their dishes (shrimps) and desert (chocolate mousse) and they were all excellent.
I would recommend stopping by if you are in the neighborhood.
I have been to this place many times in the past because it's walking distance from many hotels and excellent food for the value. Always comfortable for the foreign traveler and locals alike. The owners (a jovial Italian man and his German wife) make it a fun place to be and they run a great restaurant. I had the spaghetti carbonara tonight and it was out of this world (comfort food). I also follow-up with Saltimbocca and was excellent. I will be back next time in Munich
Such a great restaurant with very good food. The owner has an excellent sense of humor and makes each customer feel like they're at Sunday dinner with their Italian uncle. Highly recommended!
With Princess for one day on tour - and the job closed an hour earlier than we thought it would. So I immediately called - Friday night, 9pm - and the owner went out of his way to make a table for six happen, which I find outstanding service, given that I have been here 3-4 times in the past five years. Needless to say: the dinner was superb - and even my assistant master chef Jan found the salmon in his tagliatelle absolutely "spot on". Again we were stunned how incredibly reasonably priced they are for a prime Munich location.
Great food and great atmosphere made even better by an amazing owner and his wife! I recently spent the weekend in Munich and found Da Fausto for dinner on Friday night. Fantastic food and atmosphere. The owner was amazing and had us all laughing, sharing travel stories, and talking about golf... When you visit the restaurant, you'll see why golf matters! I rarely eat at the same place more than once when I travel, but I made my way back Saturday night for a second time that was just as good as the first.

On a 7-night stay in the neighborhood for a medical conference, my wife and I ate at Da Fausto three nights.
Each time, the food was absolutely fantastic. Over the course of the week we ordered items from across the menu. NOTHING DISAPPOINTED. The food is genuinely Italian, where the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. Over-spiced or overdone sauces were nowhere to be found. I cannot recommend Da Fausto more highly. In nice weather, the patio is an enchanting and relaxing spot for a wonderful meal. In inclement weather, the dining room is just as inviting.
So, why just 4 stars? Service is slow and the server (they may only have one) is harried beyond what would be considered reasonable for anyone. We chalked it up to potentially being unexpectedly understaffed on our first visit, but nothing was different the other nights. At most places, this level of service would be unacceptable, but the food is exquisite enough to overcome this issue, and kept us coming back.

This place is A-Ok! If you're looking for a nice Italian dinner in the North Schwabing area I would definitely come here!
The service was excellent - friendly, attentive & accommodating without being over done. The atmosphere was nice - quant, green & 'Italian'. The food was very tasty - great fresh bread, a very nice green salad with the perfect amount of oil & vinegar followed by some great homemade ravioli. Topped off with a complimentary amaretto or grappa for dessert. :-)
The whole evening was very enjoyable.
If you're in the area though and looking for Italian, I think this is the best choice!
Fantastic Italian cuisine, we ate there twice on this trip. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Munich
Meine Freundin und ich waren heute das erste Mal in der Trattoria da Fausto und wir hatten von Anfang an einen positiven Eindruck. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und hat einen italienischen Flair. Das Restaurant ist mit vielen Grünpflanzen und liebevollen Details wie Büchern und floralen Kronleuchtern dekoriert. Wir hatten die hausgemachten Gnocchi mit Gorgonzolasauce und die Linguine vongole von der Tageskarte und es war beides sehr sehr lecker. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt absolut und der Besitzer ist super freundlich. Wir können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Ganze 5 Sterne die sich gelohnt haben. Altes traditionelles Italienisches Restaurant. Der Chef ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ambiente sehr gemütlich mit echten Rankelpflanzen. Faszinierend anzuschauen. Essen sehr lecker . Gnocchi selbst gemacht sowie Gorgonzola Sauce und Pizza sehr lecker. Wer richtig beim Italiener essen möchte ist dort genau richtig.
Wir haben einen sehr schönen Abend mit einem hervorragenden Essen und sehr gutem Wein in einer außergewöhnlichen Atmosphäre verbracht. Der Wirt hat sogar für die Geburtstagskinder zum Mikrofon gegriffen und persönliche Ständchen gesungen! Das findet man in München kein zweites Mal. Absolut zu empfehlen!
Ich habe gestern dort meinen Geburtstag gefeiert. Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Inhaber sehr freundlich und humorvoll. Ich werde bestimmt nochmal kommen :)

Ich habe an einem Samstag Abend für den Geburtstag meines Freundes einen Tisch reserviert. Platzierung lief alles einwandfrei. Zu den Speisen kann ich nur sagen definitiv zu empfehlen + sehr große Portionen (s. Bilder).
Der Chef sorgt für angenehme und lustige Unterhaltung. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und hell eingereichtet und man hat sich richtig wohl gefühlt. Bis zum nächsten mal.
