Rundes Konzept, faire Preise!

Preis-Leistung stimmt hier absolut. Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm und gemütlich. Hier stimmt einfach alles!

Loved it. Original, tasty food based around seasonal ingredients. It's set in a colourful courtyard surrounded by creative ideas. Concept of little cold pots, little warm pots and little sweet pots is very clever. The ballet music floating out of the windows of the studio above only added to the experience on a warm Summer's night. Highly recommend.

Tolles Ambiente, freundlicher Service.

Absolut kultig, total lecker. regionale Küche neu interpretiert.

We accidentally came across this place and totally loved the little cold/warm jars and limited selection of main specials. Service great and accommodating and food of the highest quality.

The best meal on our trip!!! And we had some amazing meals....but this was really cool and everything we had was better than whatever the last thing we ordered was!!! And we tried a lot! Including dessert...also amazing. If you go to Dresden, or thru Dresden, go here!!!!

What a fun lunch spot! Tucked away in a neighborhood north of the Neustadt, Lila Soße was well worth the walk. I recommend the street car for next time. It's served tapas style, so gauge your ordering on your hunger. I had a cold jar (red beet salad) and a warm jar (spätzle with pesto) and the house made orange spritzer. I would've ordered dessert, but I was saving myself for cake later that afternoon. Cool atmosphere and clean bathrooms. It was winning all day long.

This is probably one of the cutest places in Dresden! Colorful chairs and nice artwork on the surrounding walls in the outdoor seating area. It's good for groups and the staff is friendly. We ordered the following: Dips with bread basket - Parsley almond pesto with mountain cheese Braised aubergine (goat cheese) and zucchini with goat cheese - Must Try!!! Homemade swabian noodles with parsley pesto and mountain cheese Salad of cucumber, fennel, and salmon - the salmon is not cut in thin pieces so the texture is odd. Strawberry tiramisu - yum Overall they have a friendly staff and good variety of vegetarian options, you should visit this artsy place!

Wow!!!!! One of the best meals on our trip had to be Lila Sosse - we called ahead for reservations & lucked into their last available table for the evening - service was super nice! Helped us choose a lovely bottle of Riesling & we were off to the little dishes of deliciousness Advised they had small, medium & large portions, depending on what one orders, we had a difficult time choosing the dishes we did because there were so many yummy options. But we finally narrowed down our list & had our choices confirmed as not going too overboard. I can best sum up the dishes with the notes that all the ingredients were fresh, well-prepared and spiced extremely well - we didn't have a particular favorite as everything was outstanding Sour lentils with chili and parsley / beets with apple and goat cheese Asparagus risotto with creamy goat cheese and rocket greens Spätzle with cheese & onion Way too full for dessert, we left there completely happy and looking forward to a return visit!

Thanks to all the Yelpers whose reviews led us to select Lila Sosse for dining in Dresden last night. Our party of four was staying there after completing a bicycle ride from Prague, and were surprised to see another party we'd met on the trail leaving as we arrived. They told us how much they'd enjoyed their meal, and we found the same. The menu is a mix of fixed items served in jars ( great for sharing small plates style ) and daily special entrees. Of course we had both. It's billed as "modern German", I can't speak to that but can say that my wiener schnitzel was great and my wife and our friends were equally pleased. As others have noted, the staff is competent in English and helpful in explaining the choices. Finally, the location - tucked in a courtyard off the Main Street - adds a nice ambiance to city dining. A great stop when in Dresden!

I was deciding whether I should give this place 3 or 4 stars ... I would give 3.5 if I could First of all ... I dont know what people mean by "new German cuisine" apart from food being served in a jar I dont think there is any special about the food Dont get me wrong. The food tastes good (although black currant tiramisu tastes like just blackcurrant with cream with some little teeny tiny hint of coffee) but I don't think the food itself has any special... Serving/persentation is the only gimmick here. Superb service. They have english menu and for daily specials, they would be more than happy to translate for you :)

The best meal that I've had in all of Germany. Fantastic atmosphere. Phenomenal food. The most reasonable prices I've encountered, considering the exceptional quality. For people considering eating here, you might ask, "But what is it?" There are a number of dishes served out of a type of German canning jar. They're exceptional. There are also some traditionally plated dishes. Remember to try the desserts! The restaurant owner and server were friendly. You could tell that the owner was obsessed with quality and the product. I cannot recommend this enough.

Delicious variations on German cuisine. Everything I had, from the pear walnut salad to the bratwursts with mango sauce, were very tasty. I highly recommend.

Ok - this is my first ever post on yelp. I have used yelp to guide me toward good food everywhere from El Paso, TX to Madrid, Spain. And now I'm in Dresden, Germany for work and found another treasure. Come here. Don't go across the river to the tourist zone...come here. Spinach salad with lilac dressing, goat cheese, and bacon to start. Incredible. Draft hefeweizen - unreal. Main course - beef cheeks with carrots and squash in a beef sauce. Unreal. Friendly and English speaking wait staff. Ask for the English menu and have a seat. Listen to the birds soar, and the dance lessons on the second floor of the building above. Take a break in this courtyard oasis. You will thank me -

Located in kunsthof-passage, a great hole in the wall collection of artsy shops. Cute atmosphere, friendly staff, wooden furniture. No English menu, but the owner was nice enough to translate. Hearty, freshly-made food, but then again it might have been fresh cause the place was completely empty when we went on a Saturday..not sure what that says..

The food here is delicious! Thomas was our server and he was fantastic-explaining the daily menu to us in English. The atmosphere in the courtyard was calming. We had the cold potato soup with herring, fennel salad, fish special and beef cheek special. We had white wine (server recommendation and it was good ) and beer to drink. The menu, with some dishes served in Weck jars, doesn't feel gimmicky-It just works. Most likely because the food is so good. If you are ever in Dresden you should eat here. If I lived here I would eat here all the time just to try everything on the menu. Yum!

It was an one-of-a-kind dining experience. I cannot say that I've ever had a multiple-course dinner served out of "Weckgläser" (aka canning jars). We went for their New Year's Eve dinner special, so I cannot speak for their usual menu or service. In the span of 5 hours, the organized and friendly staff served us 6 courses. We thought at first that the dinner would feel dragged out, but it was over just at the right time for everyone to catch the fireworks. The courses were not too big, yet we were all satisfied (yet not overstuffed) at the end of the dinner. I really appreciate the innovation and creativity the chefs put into each course. Some highlights were lukewarm char tartar with fennel rösti, stuffed veal with taleggio cheese served with savoy cabbage puree (the only dish served on a plate), and "barolobutter" rice served with mango and chocolate. Our only gripe with the meal was that the 2nd and 3rd course were both partridge dishes, but I can imagine the chefs not wanting to waste too much local produce. Some might find it irritating, but I enjoyed hearing the constant clanging of the utensils against the jars as the diners tried to grab a bite out of them. The price was a bit high (52 EUR for the dinner without drinks), but it was worth the price to pay for a modern twist in German cuisine. I would definitely come back here if I were in Dresden again.

Full disclosure: I went to Lila Sosse simply because I wanted to eat my lunch out of a Weckglass (canning) jar. I was a bit disappointed to discover that they also served food on 'real' plates, but I ordered a Waldorf Salad in a jar as an appetizer, just to make myself happy. The salad was delicious, made from fresh celeriac, apples and walnuts. I followed it up with an 'appetizer' salad of spinach, goat cheese, and chicken breast with a lavender dressing. A simple salad - but what flavors! The dressing was simply divine and the chicken breast may have been the best I've ever had... no fancy sauces or rubs, just a delicious, juicy piece of poultry perfection. I actually had to have my husband help me finish the salad, as it was too large for one person after a whole jar of Waldorf Salad. My husband ordered the Käsespätzle with Röstzwieblen (cheesy pasta-dumplings with grilled onions), his go-to dish whenever it can be found on a menu. Lucky guy: it was served in a deceptively small (aka seemingly bottomless) Weckglass. The chefs at Lila Sosse worked a miracle in that jar and delivered an incredibly creamy cheese sauce that packed a full flavor without feeling greasy or heavy. The grilled onions were a delightful complement to the dumplings and cheese. The restaurant has a nice selection of drinks, including homemade Limonade (not to be confused with lemonade - NOT the same thing!) using fresh lemon or lime juice and fizzy mineral water. The place was almost empty when we visited, likely due to the Easter weekend, but we were more than happy to have it (almost) all to ourselves. The ambiance is relaxed, the wait staff were friendly and efficient, and we ended up hanging around much longer than we normally would at a restaurant. I'm definitely looking forward to visiting Lila Sosse again on our next trip to Dresden!

Modern German cuisine served out of the usual way ! Doing research for my online travel guide I found the Lila Sosse hidden in the Kunsthofpassage in Dresden. The passage is located in the Neustadt neighborhood far off the touristy old town area. The restaurant is in the first floor of an old building and its interior reminds of an old fashioned living room, caused by the beautiful fireplace and the cozy wooden interior. If the weather permits pastel colored tables and chairs are set up in the narrow lane connecting the passage's backyards. Having a closer look at the menu you will realize that all dishes are served in preserving jars a complete uncommon way to eat food in Germany in a restaurant and a reason why Lila Sosse is quite unique. The focus lies on hot and cold German specialties with the size of Spanish Tapas. I really encourage everyone visiting this place because the atmosphere is great and relaxing after a day of sightseeing and the neighborhood differs so much from the classy historic old town, showing you more of the real Dresden. And finally the food is incredible delicious. If available try the 'Currywurst', the 'Rabbit Ragout' and the 'Cheese Spaetzle'. Mastercard and Visa cards accepted!
