Wir waren heute am frühen Abend das erste Mal zu Gast. Der Laden war zwar ziemlich voll, doch hat der nette Kellner schnell einen Platz für uns gefunden. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und hebt sich auf jeden Fall von den anderen Italienern im Umkreis ab. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Als Inhaber meines eher "verwöhnten Gaumens" gibt es wenig Highlights in der italienischen Küche. Umso dankbarer bin ich über das Essen bei "La Cantina", wenn einem Genießer von Meisterhand, mit Verdacht auf Sterneküche, ein satt machender Teller kostbaren Essens vorgesetzt wird und das Aussehen auch noch hält, was es verspricht.

1 minute walk from S-BHF. Savignyplatz, it's a great small Italian restaurant to go to.
I went with a group of around 30 people (company event) and they were able to accommodate all of us by splitting us up into 2 groups right next to the door.
The place feels a bit small because the bar itself took up almost 50% of the interior. You might have to twist and turn when you're walking around, but that's to be expected when you're wearing a gigantic poofy jacket during a rainy winter night :-)
The food itself is fantastic. I wasn't hungry, but I ordered spaghetti bolognese. By the end of the meal, I pretty much licked the plate clean.
I can't say about the other dishes, but I think I made a good choice on my order!

Local, established and delicious! La Piazza has a great location, super service and is the perfect neighborhood weekly restaurant. Located in the creative & vibrant area on Savignyplatz, La Piazza offers great mediterranean fare, charming service with modest prices. Relaxed cafe with great view of beautiful trees and people watching in summer, and cozy old world feel with working fireplace in winter, La Piazza is a solid choice for dinner all year round.

La Piazza was pretty close to our hotel so we decided to eat there. The service was ok. They weren't excellent but they did their job. Even for a table of 7 the food took a little bit of a long time. The food was good. Nothing spectacular but it was good Italian food. Personally our table found that the pizzas were better than the rest however the other meals were definitely not bad. 7/10, fine choice but there are better options.

Straight down the Middle
The Korean place was flooded, so it makes sense to hit an Italian. Doesn't it? Well we did and it's always an interesting experience going to a restaurant with a restaurateur (our hot date for the evening). First the staff are too slow, then too quick and there's almost always something "just not right" with the food. And all this and more happened here :-/
But even as I was trying to kick off a cold, with steaming eyes and nose blocked to high heaven could smell and see that this was proper Italian eating - if not particularly adventurous. Her complaints set off argument after argument and I'm sure the gentle old couple next to us were starting to get pissed off - Pissed enough to give a YELPING 1* no doubt. I'd normally join the old couple, but my pizza munching rendered me contently numb to the deafening gossip.

We had lunch at La Piazza which was a delicious Italian restaurant, but the service was terrible. Our server was so upset at us regarding the specials listed outside of the restaurant. He had to go out to see what the specials were and felt that it was too trouble to translate the menu. We didn't receive bread and the server forgot our red chili flakes.
As for the meal, we had pizza with seafood for 6 euros. There was a sign that stated that spaghetti or pizza for 6 euros before 4pm. We also had Tagliatelle pasta with salmon in lobster shrimp sauce for 9.50 euros. The pasta was good with the sauce.
Total cost was 20 euros with tip.

Terrible service. Several locals left after waiting over 15 minutes to order. Food was mediocre. And, several complaints happened while we were sitting here.

Warnung vor diesem Lokal!! Absolut schlechter Service,dreckiger Tisch und ewiges Warten auf Getränke und das Essen. Hungerportionen,das Schnitzel war so zäh-das würde ich nicht mal meinem Hund geben. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen!! Als Entschuldigung wurde gesagt das es halt ziemlich voll heute sei! Echt lachhaft. Das darf man niemandem anbieten!!

Went there last night. The pasta was good, the service was terrible. The waiter was not in a good. We almost had to beg for the opportunity to order.

Dropped into this place with a large group of colleagues. it's not a huge place, but the service was exceptional and they accommodated our large group gladly. The food was fantastic (baked feta, and a great filet) and the house wine was solid as well. I'd recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

Went to La Piazza on a Sunday evening because friends wanted to meet here. I should have at least checked here before we went in. ;-)
The service was alright at best and the food was mediocre.
La Piazza calls itself a mediteranian restaurant. They do Greek and Italian and apparently neither good. Alarm bells should ring and it should be a no-brainer to avoid these kind of places and I'm not really sure why we ended up here.
Food came fast, but nothing was fresh just reheated. I had Ratatouille vegetables which didn't resemble anything fresh anymore. More a mash of eggplant and tomatoes. Couldn't say what else was in there.
I can't comment on the selection of wines, because I didn't have any.
We were six people and racked up a 130 Euro bill (everyone just had main dishes, 2 split a starter), which of course is reasonable compared to New York, Paris or London. ;-) But while I don't mind paying more for good food, the price for the quality of food at La Piazza is absolutely unacceptable. Sorry.
If you skip this place, you won't miss anything.

Die Pizza ist klein, teuer und schmeckt überhaupt nicht. Ich kann La Piazza leider nicht weiter empfehlen.
