Fazit - hier muss man einfach einkehren .

Einfach lecker. Steaks super zubereitet. Schnitzel auch super lecker. Man kann dort auch frühstücken. Sehr schöner Biergarten hinten dran. Nicht das preiswerteste.....aber jeden Cent wert.

I didnt pay for the meal so cannot comment about the price but i think the food was great! Portion was huge. Tomato soup for appetizer ... Tasted great :) bread was ok We got lamb for the entree and i couldnt finish it! The dessert was yummy as well. Very delicious and also the service was pretty decent ... Definitely a place you can take someone to for a sitdown german dinner.

We had the original schnitzel and the pork schnitzel. Both were perfect! The ambience is nice, rather traditional inside. We found out that the building was from the 1850s. The outside beer garden is wonderful! Very large and inviting. they do offer English menus if you need one.

I had a great meal (I chose the salmon), my entourage didn't rave about it as much as I did. I found the place to be very family friendly with a menu that catered to both meat eaters and vegetarians. There is also a kids menu. If you're in the area I think it's worth a try. It's slightly pricey but my meal was delicious so I'm not too bothered by it. I'd go again. Plus they have an English menu for non-German speakers. I would probably go for apéritif and dinner. There is a large biergarten too, but it was cold and raining so we ate in.

We have eaten here several times over the years as it is close to our friends home. This last time however will be our last as there are so many great options in the area. I ordered the Schnitzel and it was very salty and was clearly not made in house. I also wanted to substitute fries for fried potatoes and was told no substitutions! They do have a large Bier garden with plenty of seating.

Found out about this German restaurant through my Stanford program last winter. We had a buffet-style dinner that was just excellent. I do not remember exactly what we ate, but it was a lot of Bavarian stuff (as told by our program director). It was very tasty and an interesting experience, nonetheless. There are separate rooms for large groups, which is also awesome. I also really appreciated the friendliness of all the staff members at the restaurant -- they are so helpful and kind!

The gist of it is overpricedness. Appetizer: tomato soup, was delicious. Entree: full disclosure, I don't like curried things. That being said, I had one of the vegetarian plates -- a rather disappointing cup of dry rice with some kinds of vegetables in some kind of curry sauce. Dessert: quite good, though I think the gorgeous presentation did a not-insignificant amount of priming. It was really just an interestingly-broken waffle with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream and some sort of apricot (?) preserves (?). Could not stop shoving the Schupfnudeln in my mouth, though, so there's that.

Great tatar - great service - great company of heroes! Great time in Berlin. This restaurant is as real as it gets in Germany. The food is traditional, the beer is home made (and traditionally made aswell) and the staff is absolutely stupendous. I ordered the tatar, and was given a tatar, but the kapers were missing. To compensate I was given the kapers and half a portion of extra tatar! Awesome. They have a biergarten (garden where you drink beer) which is open about mid april untill it gets too cold to sit outside. It's not in the very center of Berlin, so you'll have to make a detour, but it's easy with the U-bahn. Just find the U3 line and go to Dahlem station and it's just on your left when you exit the station.

There is ample seating outside in this lovely biergarten in Dahlem. We arrived just before 12 on a beautiful sunny Saturday to find the place all but empty. The food was very tasty albeit a bit on the expensive side. The biggest complaint is that the reasonably sized sand pit isn't well located as since its right beside the path that leads to the main road, and that they hadn't made much effort for the kids apart from the sandpit and a large wooden bear. However at least they had made some effort. I get the feeling that the place has a very different feel to it in the evenings when I can imagine it getting pretty busy.

Cozy restaurant, with beer garden in back, which was unfortunately closed on a reasonably warm Saturday evening. Good range of traditional German dishes, with a few modern European options (pickled herring in alcohol, Dutch style). Servers are very good, and, in a plus for Berlin outside of of Prinzlauerberg, willing to tolerate small children. Of the two main courses we ordered, the lamb with rosemary sauce was the best. Pork steak was good, but nothing special. Food came out very quickly. Ambience is OK - probably the best real restaurant experience to be had so far south of the main parts of Berlin, and it's close to the Dahlem Sorf stop on the U3 line.

The garden is nice but the staff was somewhat unfriendly. Prices are too high for the food quality. We were looking for a Biergarten and were disappointed with the food selection and the beer.

This was a very traditional German restaurant. The food was cooked to perfection. The only problem I had was that the menu was hard to read, even though I am used to reading a German menu. I was with a group of approximately 20 people, the staff worked with a large group effectively. The entire restaurant was very busy, and obviously a popular establishment with the locals. I would recommend a visit. I did not give this restaurant 5 stars because of the menu, and not because of the flavor or presentation of the food. My Lamb was amazing, and very well cooked. The staff were very friendly, and spoke some English.
